Quick check with you guys/gals. UOB just charged me with annual fee on 1st Oct and on 2nd Oct, one of my Adidas refund completed and credited to the account. As a result, now the current account statement is overpaid.

I have requested annual fee waiver via automated phone call.

My question:
1. How long will it take for UOB to send SMS confirmation that AF is approved/rejected?
2. Can I still cancel the card in the event my AF waiver application got rejected? What will happen to the overpaid fund?

Update. I just saw my latest transaction in UOB app. On 14th Oct the annual fee waiver appeared. But no SMS received. FYI

Out of the blue, the uob app ask for password instead of the usual biometric login. Forgotten the password, now I have to go to the branch to reset

Just got a waiver for UOB ONE. Called just now and asked for card termination instead of request for AF waiver. Got redirected to retention team
