Hi guys, I'm sorry to ask this question but is it still worth keeping the EVOL card? I haven't been using since April and there is monthly charges to it. If it is not, I will cancel it. Just that I'm being offered with UOB 0% BT time to time, it is sad to let it go.

Is it still worth keeping EVOL? I haven’t been spending anything since YOLO revision. Luckily I had cash back credited earlier and it was used to offset the monthly fees. Unfortunately, I will need to pay this month if I’m still not using it.

QUOTE(Hoshiyuu @ Aug 2 2023, 08:38 AM) Personally I still keep it, not bad but not great either. RM2k for RM50 cashback is quite decent in current environment, not hard to fulfill (or churn, really). Spending RM 2k for that... In my list it's probably 2nd or 3rd on the chopping block, below HSBC Amanah and Alliance Visa Platinum for my use cases. QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 2 2023, 09:11 AM) 1) can meet the RM30/50* cb criteria? if cannot, cancel. Yeah, to answer two both questions, it's cancel for me.2) are you satisfied with RM30/50* cb? RM50 cb need min RM2k spending. i guess can buy TNG RM1k/2k PIN @ Lazada using UOB EVOL to hit the min spending and even cb too. But I wanna keep for BT purposes because on and off I do get 0% BT offer, though it has been some time since I was offered with one... Time to look for AF free card. Let me consider. |

I applied UOB VI some time back and never activated it, so I called to cancel it last week.
Just now, the retention department called me to offer me the following: 1) RM 100 cash back with one swipe at any amount within 30 days 2) AF will be waived for this year 3) 0% 12-month BT I gladly accepted the offer. At the same time, I also asked to add a Priv Miles Elite card; another department will call me. |

QUOTE(aubergine6958 @ Jan 16 2024, 12:07 PM) I have applied for the Balance Transfer for 6 months. Inside my BT account there is only 'current statement due' which is my total BT amount and 'Minimum Payment' which is RM2k plus. Is that i only have to pay the minimum payment for these few months, (unlike other bank is installment balance)? But of course to clear my BT upon maturity. You have to check with UOB. I had both programs before with them - pay minimum and pay all only on final and also full month installment every month. xiaoxiaoshen and aubergine6958 liked this post

QUOTE(xiaoxiaoshen @ Jan 17 2024, 12:07 PM) really not trick on this? i had also have kind of BT before but the spend of the credit card will no longer enjoy interest free period, even you pay the card on the statement date, its still charge from the day of transaction until you paid it (statement date). Interest free period? You pay your statement amount in full then no issue at all. |

I also didn't need to submit income documents since I already have the UOB VI.
Anyway, yesterday was the due date for my statement balance. So, I made payments last night, around 10.20 pm, using Maybank instant transfer. I also received SMSes instantly from UOB that they received my payments. I checked the app and saw that my CL has increased due to the payments I made. The outstanding payment was 0.00. This morning, UOB CS called me while I was still sleeping to inform me that I have overdue payments. I told her I paid last night, and she said OK and hung up. I rechecked the UOB app; it still shows my payments were due yesterday, and my CL is reduced like the amount before payment. Do you know if this is normal? I usually don't check, but today is the first time I received a call from CS to remind me about payment. |
