Any photographers here? Is note 8 comparable to any beginner DSLRs?
no...way too far..if terms of quality and spec is way way to far....i have d5 mark 4 and sony a7....most of the time i go for landscape photo...if u want to put side by side on screen, looks close yet so far...but if u print out or edit in pc then pixel blows in note 8 compared with dslr. Even compared to a Nikon or Canon crop sensor, the phone's sensor is like 1/12th the size. It can only pick up so much light, despite it's large aperture. The aperture is a fraction, so you can't even compare F1.8 between one camera to another.
With the right lighting though, you can make a Polaroid photo look awesome. There's a lot of challenges for that kind of stuff

Wow, yours are high tech gadgets. How about this Nikon d3400?
d3400 is entry model for nikon..but with with 24mp really impressive ...but i noticed it has 5 fps...compared to note 8 well note 8 on manual mode has 800 ISO...but higher ISO means more noise, so u need more stability like tripod.
IR on phone seems get outdated. In 2018 people uses a remote control all like logitech Harmony .
For me i feel IR on phones are pretty dumb it's something good to have but not a necessity. Let say i wanna turn on aircond. I need open app then select which appliances then open then select function . Its useful if you lost your remote beside that its pretty pointless. IR is useful last time before bluetooth to transfer data.
While on a real remote first press is the function.
Accept it that IR is outdated. The newer device these days uses wifi like my light bulb, aircond control.
people in cave using IR on phone these days....in wide range products and new tech nowadays people dont use IR as daily use..
