Add my minimize reviews for an over a weeks user with me now.
Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th Gen, sound like great , it's made with Carbon body , very durable type , can pour of water on keyboard if it's accidentally happen to you or drop on the floors.
Mine was i5 - 7300U , 8GB, 256GB SSD with Fingerprint, Win 10 Pro and 3 years warranty.
Screen wise not very good deal with it's class , cause HD with Matt screen surface , color tone not as good to compare others brand or Macbook Pro 13 come with 2.5k display and 500 nits.
Color tone to me it's too bright side and lesser of colorful and rich sharpness.
Maybe you guys can customize for WQHD display, it's optional.
For latest model 6th Gen would be doing better for HRD display come with 500 nits, to the current models all come with 300 nits only.
Battery wise.
From when factory setting would be showing on maximum 15 hours and 45mins to go.
Once you had doing setting and install apps left for 8-9 hours only.
Look like MacBook pro 13 in 10 hours still more stable than the Lenovo series.
Keyboard and touchpad, track point.
Keyboard very smooth and good for typing in paper works for all day long.
Touchpad very smooth and senstive for every corner.
Track point not really useful to me.
Lenovo keyboard and touchpad really can forget your mouse anymore.
For MacBook you still need a mouse for copy and paste.
Additional WWAN card is optional, can added if you have data sim card for use as personal security purposes.
Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th gen weight is very light to me , just 1.15kg only, when carry or travel it's no issue for everyone.
To compare my MacBook pro 13 still under 13.5kg after putting hardshell case would be around 1.45kg
Conclusion :
Lenovo ThinkPad's use for working or IT managers only.
Apple MacBook series would be more on entertainment purposes.
Screen wise for macbook pro after Retina display it's awesome for more protecting your eyes.
