How can u embed mini4wd vid from utube on here.. what link should i use for the tag Youtube? Embed or URL?

Btw, does the Japanese starts to play mini4wd again? They have a 5 lanes tracks, it's so cool. I hope they'll promote them in America so i have a chance to play them.

Added on May 7, 2007, 12:07 amThe guy Corlla on that youtube has lots of vid check him out guys.

Nice to see you guys here!!!Thx for the support!!
So can you tell how many people join the competitions in average?
It's good to know the popularity of mini4wd all over the world first, then we can discuss whether we can setup a mini4wd international, and maybe we can run a Mini4wd world championship sometimes later! thumbup.gif

btw, you guys see the video of 3"50 in JCJC is a mini4wd member in our club
His cars are impressive icon_idea.gif

Hello Khanhfat! Super FM is good for technical courses, Rear motor chassis car is much faster than the FM ones. smile.gif Recently there are some new old FM cars released like Burning-sun.

FM chassis cars is equally as fast as rear motor chassis cars. There's a trick that must be adhere to ensure fast FM chassis cars.Kekeke!! I generally prefer Crimson Glory over my Avante. These 2 cars are classic, I've been keeping it for more than 10 years. I believe these cars still has what it takes to win races provided I change the motor (Those days, Hyper Dash is the fastest original tamiya motor you can get) tongue.gif

Thanks for the info! hmm but I still think its not true, due to the front motor chassis cars has no aero dynamic. Front Motor good for accelerate, stable during jumps or lane change but high speed not as good as rear motor chassis cars.

I agreed that Hyper Dash is a fastest motor those days. I guess you're an old hand with the age around 25-29. smile.gif

Yes, exactly 27 this year tongue.gif What is the fastest motor now? If we were to participate in a race, is it legal to open and modify the internal parts of the motor such as the motor terminal? I used to make my own motor that can performs faster than Hyper Dash but in the expense it can't run long. tongue.gif

Anyway, I don't think aerodynamics really works on these mini 4wd. As we know, aerodynamics comes into play when a vehicle or an object manage to achieve a certain speed. I believe mini 4wd all boils down to the power of the motor flex.gif

TAMIYA hi-end motor is PLASMA DASH, it requires rechargable battery for better performance. ULTRA DASH and JET DASH motors are also top motors, which many racers use it for race. It also depends on what kind of track are you going to race on.

For official TAMIYA races, no modifications are allowed, no spraying of motor lubicants. (shh.. I did this sometime during race.) I guess you also played AI-YU cars right?

Nop! strictly original TAMIYA. I hate those AI-YU cars. Don't really looks like a car, travel at insane speed and cannot run on obstacles tracks.

*I prefer all classic cars like MantaRay, AeroSolitude, Proto and Liberty Emperor.
The only car of next generation after those mentioned above that i had was Fully Cowled(sp?) Magnum Saber

Anyway, im suprised that these Tamiya racing is still going on after more than 15yrs of its existance

Yeap, same here. Those classic cars always look good and authentic; it goes very well with the anime too. Last time, we loved to use Black Special Astute, Liberty Emperor, Manta ray.

TAMIYA racing is still going on, but not as popular as last time. Year 1991 - 1997.

Please do check it out at my latest TAMIYA race video, here's the link:

to me every car has its strong points n week points just depends on how u mod the car n what track that u are facing in a race.as for me i am a diehard fm racer but its really for technical or semi technical track but for very high speed track a vs or tz will be very handy.so i normally bring a lot of cars to race.

I'm from Vietnam.. i used to play mini4 since 1999. in 2004, i took off and fly over USA to study.

My first car was FM. I can't believe they have front motors car. I won my first race with it too, then got beaten with upgraded cars. First time i join the race with that Strato Vector and no upgrades. It's still able to win with the Orange motor.

Front bumper of FM is weak.. i breaks 2 of them. They should make an FM- X like they did with TZ X. it's gonna be badd as s.

when I look at the track in the video, how can you guys manage the Jump. Races in Vietnam doesn't have bridges and Jumps like that one. Only interchange lanes bridge. Those jumps reminds me of something new that you can try, which i still remember from old vids of Japanese races from a tape that they show in Vietnam. The trick is : They put high power fans to blow the car during a straight run ( reminds me of Let's go first few chapters). Why don't some of the organizers put those fans to blow while the car starts to jump on the bridge? It'll be cool

I've seen some of you guy's car put down force wings on the body, Why don't you try to flip upside down to see what happen. Like in planes, the wing flip up ____// makes the plane go up. if the wing flip down ---\\\ like that it'll make the plane go down.

-----(wind)--->>> -----(wing)---\\\ which results a better down force to keep the front down???

So why don't some of the player try this. I don't know if it's common sense in aero physic or not but it's worth to try to prevent the car from jumping too high. The wing can be put in the rear, front, and middle. I'd prefer to put it in the middle.

It's just an idea pops out of my head. You guys should try it.

By the way, Vietnamese car sticks with roller extension alot, which we use both of Roller extension in front and back of the car + 19mm ( if i'm right) rollers. 2 pairs in the back and 1 pairs in the front so the car will completely fit int the track. Only a little space between roller and wall. I don't know if many of you try this set up before, it may be old to you guys. Wider extension can result harder landing after jumps so it may be not good in you guys's Malaysia track).

The trick in using the Extension is we can bend the extension plate in higher angle than the original( use a pincers) , which results more down force of the front bumper and stable jumps in Change Lane Bridge ( how do u call it?) and curves. Higher angle of the front roller results more down force but don't bend them too much though. Just slightly over 3 or 5 degrees more.

My car used to jumps out a lot but after i did this trick, it's stop flying out at those bridges. This only works most effective with alunium rollers with rubber ring outside.

My trick above may be old, has any one try it yet? I mostly see you use FRP plate and nothing else, I was like " how can you guys keep the car in track with bearings rollers while passing the bridge?"

what u have played is like what the Italians are playing now high speed with only the lane change as the obstacle.what we play is more to technical which is more fun and challenging.i hope more of u guys can share this kind of experience so we all can learn more bout mini4wd racing all around the world.

yep... I just suggest a slight adjustment on the front of the bumper.. only if your car often fly out. Otherwise justkeep it the same. Some times the angle of the down force of stock chassis is not deep enough to handle the speed of the fast car. Slight adjustment won't harm a thing. biggrin.gif

Put high power fans near the tracks man it'll blows all the car away when it starts to jump. .. it's more challeging biggrin.gif:D.. let's put change lane bridge into the branch. like in the pic...

user posted image

Pic from the italian site... just a sample though.

I really like technical racing track like you guys do with bridges and curves.

back to the topic
I got an idea
why don we put the history of mini4wd in a website, to have a rough history of mini4wd around the world?

btw, I also wanna have a technical track in our club if it is possible...
*
You mean, a history of clubs and championships or the main history of mini4wd ?
the mini4wd history(bad english) is in my signature blush.gif

yeah, something like that
but it is beyond that, I mean maybe we should have a brief history of mini4wd in each country

also, I think we better to have comittees for the mini4wd international forum

If it is an INTERNATIONAL MINI 4WD RACE, should we create own rules and the basic come from Japanese official rule? Then, we shouldn't permit to use any particular motor like Atomic tune, the racers can use any kind of Tamiya motors. Wow, should be interesting! Next, every year each country held a race. ;p

biggrin.gif:D:D my visa wont' let me go out of the states man. I just simply stuck in the states til i graduate. which is next 4 years.... i don't know what's gonna happen to Mini4wd now.

Well, this summer i'm gonna ask if my dad still keep my old mini4wd stuff, then my can bring it back to the states then i can do upgrades on it. I want to try out the parts on mini4wd pro.

Btw, I don't see much plasma Dash racing around.... that thing tears out the track pretty bad especially cars with alunium bearing rollers with out the rubber ring. If you remove the rubber ring it'll increase the speed a little . shocking.gif

In Singapore/ Malaysia MINI4WD rules, we're allowed to use 17/ 19mm Alum. rollers without the O-ring rubber. Yes, the car will be much faster especially during cornerings. icon_rolleyes.gif drool.gif

hmm.gif Khanhfat, do not BS us. To ship yourself via post do not need to have VISA, all you need to do just ask someone to pack you with bubble plastic wrap, water bottle, foods into the carton.

Here is the address you should ship to:
David
Tamiya Underground
B25,Basement 2 , New Wing
1 Utama Shopping Centre
03-7729 0553

Note: Do not forget to add tracking number just in case you went missing, we can track where are you.

Certainly I think we should make up some rules
I think maybe we will make them based on the Japanese rules, but we may do adjustment through our discussion
for the motors, what we do in HK is to separate them into 2 groups
one is restricted motor race, people can only use rev tuned, torque tuned and atomic tuned
for the race with no restriction, they can use any tamiya mini4wd motor

also, I think it would be better to have the international race maybe once in 2 years or even 3 years, as we probably cannot make it once a year, that may be difficult for the country to do the arrangement, and it will also be a problem to the racers, many of them cannot do travel every year I think

it is for sure, so that's why I ask who are willing to be the comittees, I think the number of comittee will increase from time to time
but we have few things to do at the moment
1st we have to setup a forum, that can be a free one(as u have mentioned)
2nd we need to find more people in discussing the issue, all racers are welcome, especially those who are from different countries rather than those in HK, Sg , Malaysia....of cos even you are those countries people, it is not a problem
but what I mean is I hope we can make it really an international one

Guys.. amazing news.. I found my old pic of my mini4wd. I don't have much money to upgrade so here are my set up, I haven't test these on road yet. I have some other ones but it takes time to build. I just talk to my dad in Vietnam and he still keep the old stuff. I just gonna tell him to send me these 2 cars and the parts.

The thing about Alunium bumper is it easily get bend after a crash.. those are some chinese parts that i bought other stuff are all Tamiya's. OMG i'm so excited of finding the old pictures. I can't believe i brought them with me on a CD to America. Yay!!!

maybe we can open our forum soon..

I am just afraid that we don have much power to negotiate with Tamiya...about the playing method..the rules..

not Tamiya parts? That's fine, we are just discussing and it is nice to see things in the past...

yes...but I mean if everything is done by Tamiya, our existence(mini4wd international) seems become less meaningful sad.gif

What I think is, to group the representatives of mini4wd racers from each country, then to discuss the rules, type of racing stuff....then we may find tamiya or other sponsers to do world mini4wd championships(WMC)

But then, if Tamiya would take over the whole WMC, we will have much less power to negotiate with the company, as we miss the lead. I donno whether Tamiya will listen to our suggestions. I know many of you guys playing mini4wd under the company that is authorised by Tamiya, everything follows to the Tamiya guide.I dont mean I am opposing Tamiya to hold the WMC, but I think our suggestions will become less effective to Tamiya if we lose the lead of holding WMC.For instance, I want to separate 2 groups to race. One is restricted motor group(FA-130 , hyper mini , touch dash ,rev , torque , atomic)and another is unrestricted(others).
But then , will Tamiya take this into consideration?I donno...
What I am afraid of is if Tamiya is going to be ignorant , we can do nothing with this... rclxub.gif

David, please confirm if your source is the real one
I think we may have to boost up to setup the forum and send a email to Tamiya, whether we can take part in the organisation of WMC

I think the best condition is we can cooperate with Tamiya
becos tamiya is the producer of mini4wd, so it has much rallying point to ask the mini4wd racers all over the world to join its competition....but can u ask if it is possible to do so?Thx icon_question.gif

to cooperate with them we have to be big enough that is the main thing but with just few of us here nth can be done but just hope with this wmc this year more n more international racer will appear n i think this is the best way to get more ppl to join us.

Tamiya Should do some advertisement on their pages in Europe, US and Asia and contact large hobby shops to promote their races.

i hate to wait....I know we have to wait for chances somtimes though..so far it seems we don have new members to join us?

Added on May 23, 2007, 7:23 amI think we may need 2 things now
one is to set up the forum/page(as least mini4wd racers can find us when they search things about mini4wd)
after that, we can go to other forums with high popularity over the world, to talk about the mini4wd issue, and invite people to join us if they are interested

Added on May 23, 2007, 8:31 amoh yeah, btw, eventually I have something in my mind now
I think we(as committees) better discuss the purpose of having mini4wd international, what we are going to do........maybe it seems not actaully helpful, but I think they are the basics for organisation to succeed, at least we know what are we doing and so do the others too.
For instance, our goal is to provide a way between mini4wd racers around the world and Tamiya...something like that

Added on May 24, 2007, 7:27 amI am searching for free forum that we can use now
wht is your preference, guys?I mean the content of the forum
1 for tamiya mini4wd , 1 for other brands of mini4wd..something like that
I donno if you guys have the same feeling with me...sometimes I feel like the mini4wd international is so abstract that people are coming from so many places, and some questions like " where should be the server in?" , "where is the headquarter of mini4wd international?" , "what power do we have?" , "what can we do?" , "does mini4wd international really exist in the real world?"....that kinds of question.....but what I think is we are doing nothing wrong..if we keep going the right way...we will find a way...but the first thing we are willing to move and we are going to move..and we will keep going

Should we write down a list what we going to do, like what's the objective, profile and so on. I think we should create a website together with the forum, so that it allows racers to post something at the forum, but who's going to pay for the hosting and domain? Please check this site: http://www.drift.com.my/ <-- if can we should do something like that. smile.gif

very nice list you got there, i' support you guys all the way.

Well, may be we can start with a free domain first. If our website draws enough attention to all the racers around the world, we can ask for sponsorship from Tamiya. I think they have their own mini4w.jp.

But with mini4wd.com it'll be an official international forum.

Well about the content of the forums I would suggest:

1 - Race Events
2 - Pro talk
3 - Newbie talk
4 - Car upgrade/ repair/ set up tips
5- Gallery showcase/photos
6- Videos
7 - Buy/ Sell / Suggestion
8 - Ideas for race track
9 - Tamiya's official promotion box.

Something like other hobby forums do with similar topics.

Added on May 25, 2007, 2:44 pm1 thing i forgot:

Our foremost objective would be : Gather more member to join us, right now we dont' have much here except there're some Malaysia and Singapore.

I don't know if the Japanese would join us cause they don't seem to like to use English .

Sure, alot of new racers won in this race, and also last minutes breaker. This layout must be slow, thats why most of us lost in this race just wanting to be fasted as possisble. sad.gif

let's have a schedule for Mini4wd International

first of all, are you guys okay with check the stuff here regularly?
I think we can finish the rules and regulations in a month
and then, we may try posting things like photos, news and video to the forum
,to start drawing people's attention
after that...we can do our promotion

June - Rules and Regulations
July - posting media, promotion...

for promotion, I am a little bit concerned with people's interest in joining us....since we set our goal to be an international forum, we can hardly hold some activities for the members...I donno if it will be a minor problem...maybe not, but I just wonder...

Added on May 30, 2007, 5:46 pmplease register and send me a private message in the forum
we are going to start discussion within this week

thanks
