Yes, but it's not running ZenUI as well. In short, not under Android One program, but it's running stock android.

Just got the RN5. I'm interested in unlocking the bootloader first because I read that they might or might not reimplement the 15 day wait time in future. That won't be ideal if I'm already using the phone.
Is there any cons to unlocking it first? not planning to flash roms yet cause I'd like to try out MIUI for a while first. Looking forward to hear the opinions of XM sifu's This post has been edited by terradrgn: Jun 6 2018, 04:07 PM |

QUOTE(Maverick_Code @ Jun 6 2018, 04:21 PM) bank apps have some weird permission requests... public bank app ask for everything. might as well use web. its the same thing Noted. I usually use CIMB and MBB app though.QUOTE(Smackers @ Jun 6 2018, 04:20 PM) No issues for unlocked bootloader phones using bank apps. Just dont root your phone, some bank apps might not launch. Ok. What about warranty? From what I understand: unlock bootloader, stock rom = warranty unlock booloader, custom rom = no warranty is that correct? Sorry if the questions are obvious, first time on android This post has been edited by terradrgn: Jun 6 2018, 04:28 PM |

QUOTE(Smackers @ Jun 6 2018, 05:13 PM) QUOTE(Maverick_Code @ Jun 6 2018, 05:28 PM) unlocking the bootloader does not void warranty. Thanks for the replies. I've unlocked the bootloader and updated OTA to 9.5.13. other manufacturers used to make that excuse. but xiaomi does not do that. to the best of my knowledge So far so good! |

QUOTE(Marcian @ Jun 20 2018, 02:13 PM) I need a protective case, the phone feels fragile to me, maybe my hands too small for the phone size. Recommend me some case from AliExpress please, not those thin TPU ones like the stock case! Thanks! i'm also looking for one. Currently considering these 2 and looking out for more. How much? Got link? Is it TPU? Thick or thin? Thanks. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/-i349303...s491605008.html https://www.lazada.com.my/products/-i335832...s467348980.html |

Using 2 sims, MIUI Optimization off and memory optimization off.
Pretty good, my average is about 1 day 10hours +-8 hours SOT. No games though. On a side note.. what mail app do you guys use for hotmail? I can't seem to find an app that push mail instantly like my previous iPhone 5 [stock mail app]. Even the android Outlook app only works sometimes. QUOTE(xperiaVuser @ Jun 27 2018, 08:54 AM) Is battery saver turned on? 1. Tried a few days before my previous comment. No dice. You can do 2 things 1. Goto settings>battery>choose apps> app of your choice - no restrictions 2. Goto recent apps>swipe down the said app to lock it Let us know if it works. 2. Will try now. So I have no choice but to lock it in background? How does Gmail handle their push? I don't need to have it locked in the background |

QUOTE(paradiseisland8 @ Jun 27 2018, 11:38 PM) Just add your hotmail account to gmail app. Add under exchange and office 365 account not outlook/hotmail/live account. That's what I do. It.. actually worked! AND there's push too!! Thank you so much for the simple solution Edit: I saw you turned off miui optimization/memory optimization? I advise you turn it back on, that's bad advice from the websites. Bugs start happening and used to cause my older miui phone to lag bad after a while. Also I dunno if it's the downgrade to 9.5.6 or because I uninstalled miui analytics/msa through adb, no more standby drain. Maybe the security patch got issue, I read one plus with latest patch also got standby issue. Regarding the optimization, do you mean to turn them both on or one of them in particular? From what I've read though, is that the system handles memory closer to how it's handled on stock OS. Which means it'll only force close apps when full or close to full. Could that be the cause of your lag? Here's what I found regarding MIUI optimization on MI Forum I've yet to debloat but will do it after trying out MIUI 10.
