Initial energy stats:
"We were able to achieve a good battery rating for this unit since its a Snapdragon (Qualcomm is known for their battery efficiency), we lasted a day on normal usage without hitting the charging port or power bank. PC Mark Battery Stress Test rated it at 14 hours 1 minute SOT, which is quite impressive already for a new SoC in the market, this is 2 hours more than the Redmi Note 5 Pro which lasted for 12 hours on the same battery stress test. Now we have tested the charging time, we were able to charge from 20% to 100% within 1 hour and 39 minutes as we monitored it closely while charging. The maximum ampere that we have achieved is 2510mAh on a QC 3.0 charger supplied with the Mi 6, therefore this debunks the claim that this unit supports QC 3.0 charging."

Lots of sample pix in this initial review too....

Source : xiaomi-miui.gr

Conclusion :For 4,000mAh energy supply having 14 hours SoT is really impressive by looking at Snap636 over Snap625.... even my LeMoto P2 which has 5,100mAh only can get 17 hours for the same PC Mark Battery Stress Test...

Isnt it better to have higher storage like 128GB then higher RAM of 6GB?
*
i prefer 6gb ram than 128gb ,
my current 4gb ram usage always around 70%+

But does it cause lagging and slow down to using the phone generally? RAM are meant to be used. If 100% is used but the phone is still smooth then it has good optimization. 6GB for now is still overkill and you will only notice the difference if you do a lot of multitasking. Apple have the best RAM optimization. Hence their iphone can still run smoothly with only 2GB of RAM.
*
yes some time u will feel the lag , especially when on gaming, need to quit the game and clear cache.
so 6gb should be like old time phone of 4gb, 4gb now getting similiar to old time 2gb

I can see that the prices being sold on imported units are quite reasonable now.

6gb version for 1099
4gb version for 999
3gb version for 799

Hope that official Mi Malaysia version is around that pricing.
*
slightly drop of rm100 each?

i guess this will be the prcing for incoming official price

4gb no drop
still expensive.

i believe by next week will drop at least rm50... hopefully
*
i remember previously some selling for around 1100 for 4gb

QUOTE(locomania @ Apr 20 2018, 12:52 PM)
If the local set price is similar to AP set, it will drop. Probably AP sellers will have more intel on what will be the local price set. If they aggressively lowering their AP set price just before the launch date to clear stock, then is an indicator.
*
yes, that true , some already started reduce price

No problem with device. To my knowledge, only devices that comes vendor roms are unable to receive OTA updates, if not flashed to proper rom.

I personally had Redmi Note 3 SD with vendor rom, i unlocked the bootloader and flashed China Rom and Global Rom with out issues. Also receiving OTA updates as i enrolled into Global Beta Rom.

As for this Redmi Note 5 AI 6gb that comes with original China ROM I'm using now, i recently received an OTA update of 300mb.

Just unlocked the bootloader ( 15days waiting period ) and flashed to leaked Global Stable Rom. As this rom just released, i reckon that updates will take sometime maybe a couple of weeks?
*
never try with china rom phone and reflash it.

so mean after flash to global stable rom which is the same rom that official redmi phone using here, it can receive ota update onward? and it will be use same like official rom?

mind share how to flash it blush.gif blush.gif
