The problem actually was with rn5p price.....if its follow its predecessor price rm750-800 its gonna be alot easyer to make decisions....our currency is strong than before now....yet the price is over 1000 for a midrange phone...

I have the 4GB one, never experienced slow startup on the stock camera app even on the previous firmware. Only one minor problem; tapping on the camera screen button needs to wait a bit after 1 or 2 shots. One way to get multiple shots faster is to use the volume button for burst shot.

Some report got the slow camera problem....some report no problem at all....ive try everything fix i5 clear the data clear the cache the camera is still alow to launch..sometime it tooks about 3 4 sec to get the camera ready ti snap photo...its not that slow....but still is quite slow.....like xiaomi intentionally make it slow....

Flash via FASTBOOT. but you'll still need Mi Flashing tool. better read up the guide. I'm using the same 6GB version. i find flashing via TRWP easier than flashing via fastboot though. I just download any ROM i like into USB OTG, get into TRWP, just wipe and flash.Done.
For those having slow camera launch, just want to know a few things, your SAVE PHOTOS TO = internal memory? or SD card ? Try switching to internal memory and see if there's any difference?

Fyi, I save my photos to SD card and i'm using a Class 10 MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 SD  Card and I have no issues on camera launch speed. Could it be possibly that you're using slower SD card, your setting is Save to SD card & camera app scans the previous photo taken thus the lag?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Could be. Will try this theory later.

I dont insert any sd card on my phone.....the think is i notice this problem with the display set aswell even before i bought them....i bought 3 unit of 3gb....all have the same slow camera lauch problem.....that why i start to wonder is this 3gb ver issue...anybody else with 4 or 6gb have the same slow camera issue...im still with stock miui tho....ive read somebody in here say that after the latest update v9.5.13, this problem still persist...

This is just a temporary fix. Once u fill ur fone up with things, it will be slow again.

My camera launch was fine when it was new. Now its slow. Sometimes take 2-3 sec to launch.

Yes u are right...its slow down again....so confirm this is common issue with this phone right..? Guest i have to live with it...

Ive decide to stay with rn5...very tempted by poco earlyer...the hype train...the thing is i dont play games at all....yes poco is a great value...but rn5 is not bad....somore i still think rn5 gonna be better interm of battery life due to low performing chip...just the lagging cemera frame 4:3 issue bother me alot....hope to fund the cure...18.9 just to much wasted megapixel...

Just change the camera frame to 18:9 should solve the issue....but it still a bug as a prefer 4:3 aspect ratio for photos....wasted megapixel...
