Well, I received my phone, and so far I'm alright with everything...
Except for the screen. The colors are washed out (vs. Redmi Note 3 (!!!)) and adjusting the contrast and colors doesn't help. Sigh |

Redmi note 3 on the left, Note 5 on the right.
EDIT: To stop you guys from becoming SUPER confused, I am comparing SCREEN COLOR VIBRANCY/CONTRAST/Whateveryouwanttocallit The picture in BOTH phones IS THE SAME PICTURE, taken by someone else. I am NOT comparing camera quality. ![]() I would suggest checking out a demo unit and seeing it (color saturation loss on note 5) for yourself. To clarify - It's the same picture, from Twitter, not taken with 2 different cameras.
Yes, everything is less vibrant, including the UI. Using the RN3 for 2 years+ spoiled me to that saturation level. No, I am not comparing camera quality. Obviously the RN5's camera is superior to RN3. Yes, color calibration tools should be able to make the screen more vibrant. |

QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ May 3 2018, 12:13 PM) I think you not hold phone at the right position.. My Mi5 also like this and to get the real color I need to adjust position to let more light enter before snap.. For the last time, I am not comparing RN3 and RN5 camera quality. Edited original post for clarity. |

QUOTE(geforce88 @ Jul 4 2019, 07:34 AM) hi may i know what is the latest firmware version for RN5? Updated mine, regretted it after 2 days.and if anyone here experiencing battery drain after updating? mine is going through one hell of battery lofe after updating to latest stable version. very bad battery life and it keep on draining even if i turn off the phone. is there a solution? sorry newbie here. ![]() Insane battery loss compared to previous version. This is on idle, with no apps running. Sometimes it is Cell Standby eating the battery. Sometimes it is Android process itself. Not sure who in Xiaomi performing testing for this update zzz If anyone knows how to fix this, would be grateful. This post has been edited by Kotarou: Jul 14 2019, 08:57 AM |

Battery consistently loss 30% every night (11pm - 6am). Randomly phone can heat up (until like 45C+ when charging).
Will never ever update from a stable build again. |

QUOTE(MatShadow @ Aug 1 2019, 09:32 AM) WoW..there are many -ve comments regarding Pie update. Ya you are one of the lucky one... now my phone, even when switched off, battery can reach from 80% to 0% overnight. Something seriously wrong with the OS.I maybe those few who happily done so w/o having issues. Maybe...maybe... |
