Just tested persona. In terms of steering it feels lighter. Handling is better than myvi imo. Not that myvi's steering is heavy. But I would prefer Persona's. Suspension also better than myvi. So I would say in terms of driving experience, persona seems to be nicer.

Just a matter of the engine. Persona is proton's vvt. Myvi is vios' vvti. Hmm

Then just go with persona. Either way, both are reliable. Other point is aircond and heat rejection from the tint/UV coated glass. Good luck.

Changing the brake disc is considered quite cheap repair.
My old 24 years old car maintenance and repairs yearly around 1.5k average. If I buy new I have to pay around 9k a year (not include repairs and maintenance, assuming it is free for 5 years). So keeping and maintaining cheap cars are cheaper.

Have you made your mind? Which one you you go for?

Just like you, I am going to get my new car this June/July to replace my 11 years old Viva.

I need the car that can bring me to LRT station (10 km daily per journey), going back to kampung once in a month (300km per journey) and weekend leisure and outting (around KL or Selangor).

Persona and Myvi is under my consideration. But i still contemplating which one is the best suit with me.

Yup. Made up my mind. Going for Myvi highest variant. Reason being I wan a more reliable engine.

Persona's driving experience is still good.

Go and test drive it. U'll feel the difference.

Well myvi is one of the most iconic car in Malaysia.. summore the Dual VVTi which using timing chain surely cheaper to maintain and far more reliable compare proton vvt which still using timing belt
That CVT proton gbx also not as good as other brand like toyota or honda but still better then previous older iriz CVT gbx..

Going to test drive the Myvi 1.5 tmr, thinking to go for AV or just H model.

Then survey a bit, and saw that Persona's Premium and Executive is priced quite similarly to the new Myvi.

Thing is either 4 speed gear box vs CVT. ASA vs non ASA.

Currently I'm driving an old City 2000, 1500cc. So I'm planning to get a similar 1500cc car.

Which 1 would u guys go for? and why?

Appreciate your input.  biggrin.gif

Have u test drive both?
I haven't done that. I will do that first before decide. Heard persona has better handling and driving experience than myvi.
Btw, more i see myvi, more i feel it is just exactly like axia.

i think i don't have to test drive Myvi , i drove myvi old model and i don't think there's a difference with 2008 model. mine is 1.5cc
I check the comparison in carbase.my, persona have more power and i like the fact that there's a trunk for luggage.

myvi have the collision feature but have a feeling that it's not going to make big difference.

only downside with Persona is that it's not Auto Start or keyless.
but after driving myvi for many years, not sure if i still prefer car like that if i can travel out and use highway .
myvi gonna vibrate more and a lot more sound when use long journey.
