I just got a job offer RM7500.
Working on pretty much the same thing. But I am considering to decline the offer due to I am comfortable working with current co, and there is a lot more to learn. What do you guys think? Should i take the risk and jump?

I have officially declined the offer today. Time to move forward and focus on my current job 🙂

Just got my yearly review this year.
Finally achieve hitting 10k by 30 goal.
Not really happy as I lost my father last year.
I always thought I need to hit this kind of amount in order to give them a comfortable life.
This is probably the biggest regret in my life.

True,

Personally, if I were just to think for my own benefit, 5k celery at consulting company that I work with in 2019 has been enough for me.

But I want to give more for my family, better education for my kids, etc.

Hence, the reason I jumped company 3 times in the past 3 years.

i wonder how many people actually managed to achieve 10k by 30

I am 26 this Oct and my basic + fix + mandatory 13 month salary only averaged out at 4.8k gross monthly.

even with including 2 months annual performance bonus, it still average out at 5.6k gross monthly. A far cry from 10k, hell, its still a far cry from my goal of 8k by 30. Considering 5% annual increment, and 10 - 15% increment on promotion

You are just 26, long way to go before you reach 30. I think most people here, at least from my experience, achieve that by job hopping. Nowadays you can’t rely on getting high salary by company loyalty (except when you get an internal promotion when the increment is higher than the normal increment cycle).

mental health is the best, its very hard to get good working environment, my previous place is very toxic that i think i’ll die young from the stress if i stay.

at your age im making around the same,
my peers in my field mostly are making less than 7k at 30, those who get 10k by 30 are really T20,
my target now is getting there by 35 instead of 30.

record all your achievements you’ve done for your company and show it to your boss on your next appraisal, ask for a raise before deciding to jump ship.

As one who managed to achieve it by being in one company, it all depends on your own initiative. No one will help you chart your path or tell you what to do. You need to know what you want to do, then work it out with your company how you want to achieve it. If you want to aim for a higher salary by being promoted, then its not about being good at your current job. You need to prove that you can already perform at the next level. Document all of your achievements, all of your discussions and target with your line manager/supervisor. Make sure that you yourself chart out a career path you want to achieve and then find validation whether that is achievable internally whether again it is with your supervisor/line manager/HR. If all things seem unlikely, then start building up your personal portfolio of achievements and find out what roles you want to apply for outside. Don't use whatever you have now at your current workplace in terms of achievement because all that shows is that you are just performing at your current level. If the role you want out there is a management role, then start finding as many opportunities to show that your initiative and effort in trying to build your skills in that area. For example, if you dont have a chance to say lead a team at your current role, find out initiatives within your company where you can be the lead (e.g. such as leading a team building event or leading a new initiative).

If you just think of a 5% annual increment, you will wait forever before you reach a RM10k salary.

Rare HR folk here. If you don't have anything set in mind yet, I would advice you to explore the COE side of HR, there's where the money and opportunities lay.

I always thought it is fine to save money first, then when my salary increased, I can treat him better.
I like most of the folks, save money buy house, buy car, thought need to have certain amount of salary only can live happily.
But actually, those things are not needed. I no need that amount of salary to make his life comfortable.
Now I hit my salary goal, but he is not here anymore.

hard to tell, maybe not alexithymia, but something similar,
his emotion go uncontrol, with a lot of anger, especially toward family members, someone who are close to him, unintentionally.
He thinks it is everyone else problem, but not his problem.

I have tried very hard to communicate with him for years,
but recently I realized that this is not something can be solved with communication,
perhaps, its a mental health issue.

maybe you can make your dad's life comfortable with less amount of salary.

But I am not sure how to achieve that in my case.
I feel that my dad will never satisfy,
no matter how hard I try to please him,
He always think that I am not good enough.
