what is the median salary for IT that has around 10 years of experience as a whole? Although the first few years might not be relevant to what one is doing now.

Focusing in public cloud infra, DevOps, with not very strong coding background, solo contributor

is 10k a reasonable amount or is it can be more?

i think it depends on what kind of IT field as well.. i am a network guy before, getting above 10K when i was close to 30ish.. professional certs does help alot in salary negotiation

now i have expanded into other infra area and cloud computing... which fetch my salary higher. and i do not have overall 10 years of experiences.

I am still in Cat 2
isn't that network field is getting lesser demand compare to before?

emergence of hyperscaler cloud, managed service PaaS, SaaS and all, industry now are placing more emphasis on application development, machine learning, and big data

unless you are working in telco environment, dealing with core switch and so, otherwise network infra is quite a sunset field IMO

depends really whether r u in vendor or end-user. whatever services u mentioned above all need network, without network nothing will work. it is nothing different from managed services .. rather than the network guy go to your company and fix the thing for u, now they stay within the company (cloud vendor).

and yes I come from telco background ...the demand for network engineer (I meant engineer, not those cert dumper) is getting higher everyday due to 5G. one network admin job in p.pinang is offering 20k+.
