All Taiko can give some advice on my job career. I'm 37 and staying in KL now. I received offer from Intel and signed the offer letter dy, going to report work soon. At the same time i received offer from Mimos malaysia. Their offer base salary is higher than Intel but Mimos is contract base given 1 year for new employee.
Now I'm in the dilemma choosing which one to go, but of course i need to report myself to Intel first while thinking.
Let me break down a bit on these two company.

Intel
Salary: RM11500
contractual bonus: 1.5 month
bonus: performance and quaterly
medical coverage: RM8k (include family)
EPF: 14%

Mimos:
salary: RM13k
bonus: 1 - 2 months (Not sure HR got tipu or not)
EPF: 12%
Contract basis: 1 year.

The dilemma because I got family and kids plus my property is in KL also. Any advise on this Mimos company?

My family and I live in KL but I don't think I will be coming back so often. Probably once in a month.

I was just thinking while I'm still not married and perhaps could save more if I try to live frugally in SG, maybe in that manner I could give it a try?

TBH in IT industry especially programmer, fetching commendable salary is really not all that uncommon. Me and two other peers from the same uni and same course graduated at the same time, and both of them are fetching 5 figures already, 28 & 29 years old. I just turned 27 this year, an inch from 5 figure but not there yet although if take bonus into account I'm already there. While a number of my juniors also already fetching 5 figures salary, posting their 'visa infinite' credit card on social medias to show off their achievement 

It's a good industry to be in at this tech centric era. But really have to be up to date on the new techs available.

I thing that what in their contract. Most of the pro gamer need to stream and certain of amount of time and get paid what they already offer per month. Other than that if they get donation from other people while steaming.

I need advise on how to calculate my tax for my case. Would wanna reduce my tax payout if possible

I've jumped shipped quite a number of times.....i noticed that talking to the manager/management is pretty much useless.....they will only act when u throw in the letter. But by then, i've made up my mind and it's meaningless to counter-offer. Not sincere.

It's not hard to start, should be quite easy as the direct manager is the one you report to. You should have a good relationship with him/her.
What's is hard is to see a result from that conversation. Usually, maybe something will happen....maybe like 10% increment etc, but the job offers that comes will be like 25% or more.....too tempting to not go for the higher increment.

attended an interview @ PJ .. everything was smooth .. after few days of interview . they called me just to inform that I'm not successful due to they have "Gender preference" .. W.T.F

never mentioned earlier ... and wasted my time and money .

Hands down I'd take the Intel offer over the Mimos one. Here's a recruiter (I've done both agency side and in-house) perspective on why:

1. Never look at variable pay when evaluating an offer as that always depends on too many factors that are beyond your control (despite what any HR department can promise you), eg. economic downturn, team KPIs, company revenues, bankruptcy, stock price, and maybe individual performance (but trust me that will be the smallest component in the calculations). So taking Intel's fixed annual pay (RM 155,250) and comparing it with Mimos (RM 156,000), Intel is RM 750 less on an annual basis. Spare change if you ask me if you compare that to #2.

2. Intel's additional 2% contribution on EPF versus Mimos. Per year that's a difference of slightly more than RM 3,000 in EPF contributions that Intel makes more than Mimos. Now of course that's not money that you see today nor that you can use. But if you believe in the idea of compounded interest (everything good in life comes from compounded interest), then an average returns of 6% EPF dividend is going to do wonders for your future needs/retirement.

3. Better economic stability with a permanent role vs. contract. I'm not entirely against contract positions but the pay has to at the very least 30-50% an offer that you might be able to get elsewhere for a permanent role. 30-50% of RM 11,500 is far more than RM 13,000. If you really want the Mimos offer, I'd say leverage your Intel offer to get them to make the deal sweeter for you. Tell them about the risk you are taking on, the lack of ability to get bank or car loans for the next 12 months, being left out cold without a job 12 months from now, etc.

4. Medical coverage of RM 8,000 for self and dependents is pretty sweet for an MNC already. Do check and verify what medical coverage here means exactly, is it all outpatient and specialist visits? Can it include dental/optical claims? Is hospitalization (better be), GPA, and GTL on a different plan?

5. You have family + mortgage to pay for on a monthly basis. Do you have enough 6-month rainy day savings to tide you and your family over if you indeed find it hard to secure another job after Mimos / Mimos does not renew their contract or convert you?
