Hi There,

I just renewed my Unifi contract and got the dual modem/router - Netis DL4480V.
Previously I was using TP Link router which was a breeze to setup.

Now with this new router I have tried few different configurations to setup the DNS settings (I am using Getflix and even their Tech team can't resolve this issue..) and apparently even failed to get the google DNS of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to work...so now I can't access any Geo-location based apps on my FireTV box...

Quite frustrated...hoping someone here would on the same modem/router with DNS subscription will be able to help me out... some screenshots from my Netis setting here for reference.

Thanks a million..[attachmentid=9582220]

Did you try pinging 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 after you set the Static routing?
Also make sure IPV6 is disabled on your router/modem.

I think I see the problem. Make sure the interface is set to LAN or something similar not ppp1.

If you are trying to set up DNS using the routing table, it is a big mistake. You are confusing routing and DNS. Routing table is meant for routing, and not DNS setup. You have to set it back the way it was bro. If you don’t know how it was before, you are screwed. You can probably hope that it will be set up automatically again.

Static routing is used to block access to certain DNS/Servers which is required for devices such as Chromecast and Amazon FireTV to use Getflix DNS servers. So based on screenshot it is correct except for the interface which should be set to LAN in order for static routing to take effect.

So sorry for the delay in replying..you are absolutely correct Sir..the problem is that IPv6 overtakes IPv4 DNS settings which is why under the Aftv network settings it displays IPv6 instead of Getflix DNS...

The problem is that I have tried searching endlessly how to disable IPv6 on Netis Model DL4480V however still tak berjaya jugak.. cry.gif

The possible settings which I have disable is as per in the attachment..

For the interface on the static routing it seems LAN is not one of the listed choices..sedih sungguh nih.. kena pakai VPN buat sementara nih untuk access..

Any help to solve this issue is greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot and apology again for the delay in responding.

Try setting the interface to br0 and see if you can ping 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. You should also look in the WAN setting and see if there is IPV6 setting in there. Also, I noticed a DNS server tab in one of your screenshot, please ensure all settings are correct in there as well. After that make sure to restart the modem/router to apply changes.

have change the interface to br0 and ping looks ok (I think so as I am not very familiar with the method.. ran from Macbook). Still Aftv picks up the IPv6 DNS on their network.. DNS settings on the screenshot are from Getflix coordinates.

it's ok Sir.. you have been really helpful and I have learnt some new info from your postings.. I give up for time being haha.. hopefully someone with the same model dual router/modem Netis managed to get DNS working from the router and will share the settings.. I am not sure if this router has been setup in a way to transmit only IPv6

My sincere thanks your assistance. Really appreciate it.
