why is it that people think that just because you pay for it, pay 'full fees' in this case, you can get anything you want?........NO you cannot buy a medical degree in these countries........you can however, in many others........
the reason for this exclusion is to PREVENT BACKDOOR entry into the profession........unlike msia, which is FULL of backdoor pathways to become a doctor, the countries with pms of imu (uk, oz, nz, canada, us) do NOT allow backdoor entry.......
citizens and pr have to apply to get into med schools in these countries, and they are VERY selective who they will admit......
the only reason these citizens and pr's will think of going to imu, is if they FAILED to get an offer in their home country.....and getting in through imu, and then partnering BACK into one of their med school will mean a student who have been REJECTED by the med schools at home getting into the same medical programme via the imu backdoor........
that is a BIG no no in these countries....hence citizens and pr's are prohibited BY THE PMS countries (NOT by imu) to partner back to their own country's own med schools.......but it is a concept completely alien to msians, as msians LOVE the easy pay fees-get in-pass-graduate-back to msia pathways in russia/indonesia/egypt etc.....
and really.....it IS a lot easier to get into imu than direct entry into med schools in uk/oz/nz/canada/us.........

I think your presumptuousness is rather unfair and uncalled for. I am merely asking for advise and not judgement without any basis of understanding of my circumstances!
I never thought of this as back door entry as I only recently changed my mind to apply for medicine. I was offered Economics in UK but I begin to dislike Economics. Last Nov and Dec, I was involved in a project that involved with mentally disabled children, that started me thinking of becoming a doctor. But I have at that time applied for another course. Now after several months, I feel that my calling is more on being a doctor than money making investment banker in London.
However, if I want to apply direct to UK, I have to take a gap year which I am not so keen of. I know my results will be more than what is required by the universities in UK in terms of grades so I am not worry about not be able to get a place in UK if I apply directly next year. My parents have both advised me that if I can't apply to IMU, then apply to UK next year directly, do not apply to Indon, Egypt , Russia etc as a doctor's job deals with life and not to be taken easily.
For your info, a PR or citizen of UK that has been away for more than 3 years, you are considered as international student and paid full fees, so whether you apply direct or through IMU, you are still international student, hence my statement of paying full fees. And I have been away for more than 10 years!
