Hey,does anyone here have any idea if there are remaining seats (possibly vacant seats are available due to rejection by other candidates who have decided to go to other universities upon accepting their offers) for the Feb 2012 local programme for MBBS? I know it's so last-minute to apply now but I've just gotten my A-Level results yesterday (ABB) and want to know if it's too late to request an interview now itself, and hopefully be able to join. Am I able to appeal? Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(Yeyechan @ Feb 3 2012, 11:47 PM) you should call them and ask... if can, arrange for an interview as soon as possible. if u get accepted, welcome. Thanks. And yeah, they told me when I went (Jan 25) that there were some vacant spots available and slotted me in for an interview the following day. So yes,I immediately agreed to it and on the end of last month,I got my acceptance letter for the local programme from the mail. Btw to any current IMU students out there, can you all brief me as to what is to be expected from joining this uni? As in,how are classes like, what kind of extra-curricular activities do you all carry out (I'm pretty interested in joining the Swimming Club,LOL. But I hope I won't be the only 'sesat' one joining it...not sure whether there are many who have become members),what books you should purchase and learn from,etc.etc.? Yeah,I've found out as much as I could about this institution earlier on itself, but I'd like to know more. I'm pretty excited about starting this term! Your help is much appreciated in advance. QUOTE(limeuu @ Feb 5 2012, 06:02 PM) for clarification about their local stream cut off, would you mind giving us your entry qualifications?....if you don't want to display your results here, pm me..... thanks..... it is illuminating, the very fact that at this late stage, they are still accepting fresh applications..... Oh,I stated it earlier itself - I got ABB. At the interview itself, right at the beginning, one of the interviewers said to me, "Ok ABB, right? Qualified already in that respect. Now we'll just have to see how your interview progresses." Or something along those lines anyway;just paraphrasing. If I'm not mistaken, BBB is the minimum requirement right? Hmm,I guess since people are so gung-ho about entering the PMS stream, several spots are left open for those who won't mind taking up the local programme seats. Some others may even have turned down their original IMU offers in favour of those from other universities. Anyway,I don't mind doing everything locally though. At first,I was apprehensive a little about how that may affect my chances to work overseas in the future but now,I think that's okay. Still don't get why the IMU degree is not recognised overseas though. Is it because it's still a 'young' institution and the curriculum in universities abroad are more complex, detailed and rigorous in comparison? Back to the main point, I still have plenty of time to decide whether I want to stay in Malaysia and work, or go abroad instead. If I intend to do the latter,I may even have to sit for an entrance exam in that particular country or something. Right? This post has been edited by cherrychapstick92: Feb 6 2012, 12:28 PM
