QUOTE(zstan @ Oct 7 2010, 12:02 PM) what do u want to do for masters? MSc in Health informatics.just now you said you not science background, then why want to do MBBS? -- I was offered full scholarship to study IT. Back then I got C3 for Chemistry and C4 for Biology - so I didnt have the confidence to earn 4.0 in matriks/STPM to get into IPTA medic. IPTS/overseas were out of the picture because of $$$. I felt a higher calling in life. If I want to do it for the money, I may as well just continue doing what I do now. Lucrative without the crazy hours. |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Oct 7 2010, 12:33 PM) what did you do for entry into the 1st degree?........ 1. and 3.by that i infer either one or more of the following.... 1. you did not do a science based pre-u 2. you did, but did not meet the cutoff 3. you did not do a science based 1st degree 4. you did, but did not meet the minimum cgpa of 3.5 I did foundation in IT. Which is useless outside the university itself |

QUOTE(limeuu @ Oct 7 2010, 12:41 PM) then you are stuck.....you will need good foundation and results in chemistry (+/_ biology)........ Yeap am pretty much stucked. i am against the 'passion' ('higher calling') type of entry into medicine.....and like i always said many time before, nobody without straight a's in spm should consider doing medicine...... that is just my personal opinion of course, and in real life, even arts stream students gets into some med schools..... but my opinion obviously resonates with many countries.....just look at how uk/oz/usa selects their med students..... You dont have to apologize for your opinion. You're entitled to it Added on October 7, 2010, 2:29 pmProlly passion without action is as bad as action without passion. Lets see where I end up a year from now This post has been edited by Syd G: Oct 7 2010, 02:29 PM |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « So much rage to be pissed about one lecturer. In life you'll meet a lot of unpleasant people - if you cant handle one person how are you going to handle many many unpleasant patients? And to get personal is uncalled for - who cares if she said 5k is not enough or the fact that she tells you that you're incompetent. It just reflects back on her inability to manage money and her insecurity towards the fact that she doesnt like to do bedside care. If you cant learn to pick and choose out whatever life throws at you - nursing is definitely not for you. |

@Julian
Just finish your degree there, and prove yourself worthy during your HOship. There are lousy doctors from local institutions too. |
