QUOTE(wow1wow2 @ Mar 14 2010, 09:50 PM) Can anyone tell me IMU is associated with which college . If I want to be a dentist can I get through it by taking foundation then go to IMU? Reply is kindly appreciated . Rather than taking foundation in some colleges, it is a better idea to just go for Cambridge A-Levels,Australian year 12 programs,International Baccalaureate Diploma and the like.A much more globally accepted qualification like that would serve as a better passport to tertiary education than Foundation programs.

QUOTE(cgan @ Apr 6 2010, 06:14 PM) I'm taking my A-Levels and will be completing them by January 2011. Results will be out on March 2011. I wanna apply for IMU's MBBS course for the August 2011 intake but I understand that students have to sit for MUET and IELTS exam before they can apply for the MBBS programme. I can't take my IELTS and MUET now cause it clashes with my college classes. Anyone who took A-Levels before and studying in IMU now? What should I do? I'm also not really sure how to register and where to sit for MUET cause I thought only Form 6 students take MUET, thus I was kinda surprise to see IMU requiring both IELTS and MUET for MBBS, BDS and BP. Can anyone help me on this? As in how to register for MUET when your not a form 6 student Anybody who wants to continue their studies locally or in Singapore can take MUET not just form 6 and Matriculation students. ^^ you can take MUET as a private candidate.Go and check the MPM website for details and where are you doing A-Levels?Certain colleges also host MUET exams.IELTS is no problem. You can simply choose the best date that suits you since they are kinda held about three times a month and results for IELTS come out quite fast about 13 days from exam date and anyway IELTS is usually on Saturdays so it won't clash with classes, the speaking test might be on weekdays but that only take about 15 minutes of time so if there's a test center near you it's quite ok or you can opt to take it on the same day as listening, writing and reading. not sure about MUET though but even if it clashes I think you can ask for leave to take it ^^"

QUOTE(KKLOO @ Sep 30 2010, 02:27 PM) lol. i'm surprised medical student also behave that way. well with there being more people nowadays going into medicine not because of their interest or anything but thinking of just money etc. it's no surprise that they behave that way. Some have mediocre results but just they have the money to go in so they got the seat of course not everyone is like that.

QUOTE(law_yew_wooi @ Oct 9 2010, 10:14 AM) what if the dentistry course locally here in imu is not recognised by mdc??? cos i didn't see it appears in the list... what should i do? Because it hasn't produced any graduates yet so it can't be recognized yet but that being said I doubt a local programme won't get recognized when the time comes.

QUOTE(Julian2103 @ Dec 13 2010, 09:26 AM) Hey Guys, Im currently studying in Moscow. Im interested to explore the option of credit transferring to IMU. Reason not being I dont think the quality of education sucks, but rather to distance myself from the stigma that surrounds the whole " Russian graduate" issue. I'm not going to start to defend my current university as Im sure many of you are educated enough to realise that the problem with Russia is not the lack of quality of professors but rather the lax acceptance of students. Have any of you heard of such a case? Im referring to credit transfer. Im an good student and it is possible for me to provide letters of reccomendation by lecturers as well as results from my current uni. Im looking to do the fully local program. Hopefully I can be accepted into the first year or second year directly because Im nearing the end of my clinical years already. So it's probably not fair for me to relearn the muscles of the forearm when I can describe the pathogenesis of hypovolemic shock. Please let me know what you guys think and wish me all the best:( For medicine, credit transferring and transferring to other Universities if the two institutes do not have an agreement is generally not allowed at all except in really exceptional situations which are way beyond your control. Why not just finish your education there. If your good then your good, if not then well... If your good enough, show to people that your good when you come back. ^^

QUOTE(eliselam @ May 14 2011, 09:55 PM) Hi, need advise! I want to study Medicine at IMU but when I call IMU to enquire, they said becoz I have PR status in UK, I cannot apply to partner universities in UK. I have the PR many years ago when I was a young child, but I live and study in Malaysia now. I am wondering whether is there anyway to overcome this! If I dont tell IMU about my PR status, will they find out? I will be paying fee like normal Malaysian students. Also my passport does not show any PR stamp. Please help. If your a UK PR, that'll show up when you apply for a student visa right so it'll still be a problem right?

QUOTE(helpme93 @ May 16 2011, 11:23 PM) If im taking EALD in ausmat now do i still have to take ielts or muet? yes IMU requires students to take them no matter what if you want to get in med. The government requires their student to take MUET or something. QUOTE(Syd G @ May 17 2011, 08:26 AM) If you're applying for Monash, they still want IELTS even though you scored well in their own MUFY English. What more EALD really? My friends who did ESL in SAM didn't need IELTS to get into Monash.
