Offers are made long before applicants sit for their a2...and on conditions of only between 3a or 1a*2a....so your final result means little as long as you can be confident of at least the later....the trick is a personal statement strong enough to get an interview...and an interview performance enough to get a conditional offer....a high ukcat/bmat score always is useful...

QUOTE(cckkpr @ Oct 15 2015, 09:07 AM) This is buying insurance. Since IMU is having problems in getting the places for PMS filled, just asked them to defer the offer to the August intake as you may get offers after February. the "booking" fees are not refundable....so it would be wise to apply for the aug 16 intake...the downside is you will be out of sync with uk med schools during phase 1 to phase 2 matching....ie a 9 months wait.....with the exception of nottingham....

did a bit of sleuthing, and i think you are under the "jpa-mara" programme, and just started a levels mid this year, so will only sit for a2 in May/June 2017....
that is by definition, mara, okay....and NOT the jpa bursary programme...
so this does NOT change the fact that jpa has stopped sending their bursary students to imu-pms....
whether mara will continue to do so in 2017 remains to be seen...and mara cannot "assign" the med school to you...you will have to qualify like everybody else, on merit....

Medical school interview in msia is a farse....but necessary because of MMC requirement.... The most important criteria is still money....they are also not happy with the minimum requirement rule, as there are many applicants with money but below the minimum which they cannot accept....
Some recalcitrant med schools still accept them, and ask them to appeal to MMC....
In such an environment, interviews are redundant...

They will send you a detailed timetable. The start date includes 2 weeks of orientation.... So you will start 22 Feb and have the first 2 weeks as orientation....

The main difference is who are eligible for the scholarship...jpa scholarships are in recent years open to all, with an obvious but unstated quota set for bumi and non bumi....
Mara on the other hand, is purely for bumi only....and if jpa has any scholarship restricted to only bumis, they use the name 'mara', to avoid confusion and complains.... Hence the so called jpa-mara scholarship....
Since this is not well understood, let me make it clear then...
There is NO more scholarships for non bumi to do medicine overseas....
There is still such scholarships for bumis....and three agencies are still doing that....jpa-mara, Mara itself, and state bodies....

for a very good rundown of all jpa related "open' scholarships, please read this detailed blog.... http://daniellimjj.blogspot.my/2015/04/gui...cholarship.htmlbumis live in a different universe, and opportunities open to them are different...in addition to what is available to everybody as described in the link....non bumis generally don't have access to information on the huge education opportunities available only to bumis....

I would just go direct entry if offered....the other headache you will face is the uncertainty of matching....and possibility of match to Ireland or non smc recognized uni....or even oz....

Many unis now don't differentiate between pre clinical and clinical years....so you pay the same....
But those that charge pre clinical years with the lower fees in tandem with other non clinical courses, will find it cheaper direct entry than going through IMU....

I think jckc is somewhat joking....
But Scotland and Wales are generally thought to be ulu places, and not popular....
Just think about being posted to Sabah and Sarawak, and you get the general idea why .....and you get the same reaction here too....

no...except perhaps some which may impose eligibility rules...eg st georges used to only want to consider students with their minimum a levels eligibility of 3a....not sure if they still do...
the matching process i believe is explained in their website?...
