Hey randywang,
Yea, in some considerations.

Hey chika138,
I assume that the 'Human anatomy and physiology' is a big book, and you have to memorise all in ONE sem?

Thanks
*
Okay next friday i will tell you how well i will do from just studying from notes. i hate taking in extra stuff that is not used in the exams like my batch mates. but studying from lecture notes alone can already get you to pass according to my seniors.

Marieb is more than enough for first semester work. cause it teaches alot more extra stuff. but the anatomy pictures are very usefull. and almost all your lecturer will just copy off marieb onto your slides !

Can I know what the cutoff point normally for february intake for Medicine?

Btw, if we get rejected seat, does our chances of being dropped out higher?
*
the cut off point remains the same through out the year. just that most of the stpm/alevels will be in august intake, so its an assumption that m2 is always smarter or better prepared.

no i dont think the rejected seat or not increases or decreases your chance of staying in. just come in and study your hearts out.

are u sure it is enough by just studying from study notes??? my sis said the notes are so basic that she needs to read everything from the books! dunno! she also said that some of the notes are incomprehensible..

sure get into one lah! i think academic results carries a much greater percentage compared to interview result! correct me if i m wrong
*
like i said i'll tell you next friday how well i faired up for my EOS. But honestly, the exams were enough, No one complained of extra stuff that aint from the book. So your sister must be those that really wants in depth knowledge to the whole course

Your dentist friend most likely will get called in. I doubt they will wanna loose out on a 4A student. but fret not, alot of ppl told me their interview was shit but they still manage to go in, all except for one girl.

Ibrahimovic, there are a few singaporeans. In my batch quite a number of them. Well remember my pm to you. I mentioned the site hasnt change their entry requirement yet so maybe just bang and try your luck .

maysun. Do you know the details of our results? I heard there will be two notifications, one via email to check if you pass or not, and another by collecting with the AAD, which will tell us our grade and break down. Any idea when will i find out if i pass or fail!!?!

honestly may sun, i dunno who you are.

sydney is offered but little is known about it. So far one prospective med student was only talking bout queensland, ANU and warwick for double degree.

am not too sure about Sydney U.

not smart. just studied the important things and dont go too overboard with details.

hmm, i know of 6A's this time around. maybe theres more. but highly unlikely. so its basically 3A and 3A minus.

Class median is 59%. SD of 10%.

well I know for a fact , Melbourne U's eng or commerce department is really easy to get into with A levels result. Maybe thats downplayed their rankings? I know for a fact their Medical Program is prestigious enough, that when people always talk about partnering, Melb U is the most sought after.

Woah thats one very high mean. The quality of the students in your class must be outstanding. rclxub.gif

Lets discuss about PMS shall we? Like how does grades, ECA affect your ranking, its something chika is gonna face in a few months time and me in about a years, but no harm done! and would like any of our past seniors to comment and advice us best on getting our preferred universities.

Nottingham and Warwick has just been added. ANU's announcement is also new to us. So IMU is still looking for more universities to twin to. Or at least increased allocation for each university.

wait, on the site melbourne is still listed as a PMS?? and according to zltan, the incoming batch will be joining up with his batch after they have completed the research stint.

btw, EMQ and MEQ , what are those?

and i just realised the summative is much harder with four different papers but the number of questions like for ospe 2Q's one from each system.

any tips for sem 3?? pretty long semester in my opinion. and quite tough too.

thanks zltan and shiki, and here i thought CVS was hard. ECG lecturer was a bit of a drag in my opinion. guess self studying really kicks in now. I'm not exactly at full attention when physiology is in mind.

How are the drop out rates in sem 3? so far there is only one sem 3 repeater. as opposed to sem 1 where there were a few repeaters.

am planning to buy Ganong pretty soon...

all weeding will have been done by eos2, so people are generally not expected to fail eos3.......but eos3 is the exam that will likely determine where one is matched to for phase 2..........so that is a LOT of stress on some students who are aiming for very popular destination and med schools......

oz and nz will be hot from now on, due to shrinking places and very high popularity, so one has to be in the top 75 percentile to have a reasonable chance (ie at least B+).......if you don't mind where you go, then no worries, just pass........
*
hmm. yeah quite true. but initially i thought 40+ students will fail. but apparently its only 20+ students, and it seems as though alot of them will pass. am not too sure though, but apparently the resit results are only out this friday.

Yeah, im kinda hoping for my places in australia. so hope i dont screw my eos 3 up.

I really wanna see how i stand amongst my batch. so far most people have been telling me C's. rclxub.gif and this are the students that i see head to the library every day. I really wanna know though.

ECG! Just bought a pretty good book from outside uni. very informative and brief. pocket sized as well!!
