oh really? hmm.gif  i know some parents of students borrowing huge amounts of loans to fund their children to overseas.

cannot compare like that..all the variables must be the same..if go uk 2 year sure cheaper than go oz 3 years.. laugh.gif

my father wanted to do that too but i said NO i do not want that, its like putting all the weights all the responsibilities into me and I MUST SURVIVE TILL I PAY BACK ALL THE LOANS. and if i die of accidents or smtg (choi!), my family will bankrupt after that. haha its not just 100k for all the years in oversea, going uk/aus/nz for medicine will cost u at least 150k per year. dentistry even more... brows.gif

NZ is no longer as cheap as you thought, it's more expensive than most PMS unis. Adelaide remains as the cheapest ever still though. But judging from working opportunity wise, many ppl now (historically) will top pick NZ unis rather than last pick it.

nope adelaide is no longer the cheapest
the cheapest would be those 2-2.5 years uk schools like aberdeen dundee nottingham, and the cheaper uk schools like queens and liverpool
both nz schools are only cheaper than the most expensive pms (edinburgh) by 20-30k

and zstan : melbourne and edin are expensive and they are prestigious so I think u might be right? but it's not an absolute rule though, coz all PMSes are prestigious lol

it follows a matching system and the better ur results the higher the chance you will get your first few choices. But still, the matching system's not transparent so sometimes there'll be some dodgy results, like top students not getting the first 3 choice sort of stuffs. But still, it's still a PMS, most ppl choose by country rather than by university though, so when ppl get their 9th choice to OZ when their first 8th choices are UK, there'll be a bit of a shock lol

o.o so means you cannot even get to choose what country u wanna go?

i wonder how you guys parents plan the money.
*
i remember that if you cannot afford the pms you've been allocated to, you can appeal to imu. but you need to show proof by showing the copy of your parent's J form (tax forms) to confirm your financial status. some batchmates changed from pms -> seremban because of this.

generally, changing from pms to seremban is quite easy, imu will never refuse more money..........

it is the other way round that is difficult.......as the number of places in pms is very restricted.........

if you can't afford any pms med school, you can't afford ALL of them lah....

and yes, changing matching is near impossible.......otherwise 80% will want to change, as it appears only 20% got their 1st choice.......

i believe there's not much difference when u convert back to RM. Tuition fees for certain countries might be more expensive than others but when u take into consideration the living expenses as well, they will become almost the same in total.

very true. cheapest if i still remember is places like liverpool, aberdeen, belfast, etc. nz fees are actually quite expensive. and adelaide's fees have jumped very high. it's still one of the cheaper aussie unis but not really the cheapest if you compare all the schools

Marieb u can easily buy it from current med student, because it is practically collecting dust after semester 1. Microbiology dont need to read so serious book, there is 1 book called microbiology made ridiculously simple.
