QUOTE(diegoadriadona @ Dec 17 2009, 12:49 PM) not really. if you have a ter of 94, i think your chances are still quite high.most of my friends also didn't get an offer the first time but were later accepted (too bad for imu, most decided to accept monash's offer first) |

The thing is many people refuse to believe the fact that they can't work in oz even if they have a MBBS from Monash M'sia. They think that themonash msia grads NEVER has any right to work in oz, just have a recognised degree that's all.........that is why people who knows the facts will choose imu over monash..........and why i ask what's the preference now......... most important thing is the fact that it is recognized by AMC. Hence, many of my friends who thinks so chosed Monash since it is cheaper than IMU by around 200k and they actually will receive an "Australian" cert. |

Hence, many of my friends who thinks so chosed Monash since it is cheaper than IMU by around 200k and they actually will receive an "Australian" cert. currently they dont have enough places for H.O in aust. so first thing is to shoo away all the international students. Australia has demand for M.O positions and above. so the best choice is to come back home and gain experience prior to applying for a position. and at the same time, the demands aint coming from the major cities, but smaller cities and towns where the locals dread to go. its like any other dirty/unwanted job, if they locals cant ill in, use an IMMIGRANT! got this info from a friend in imu. |

Hi all, wanna ask IMU ppl here something.
I was at a education fair just now(I kepo nth to do) and I noticed that AIMST, PIDC, Manipal and those Russian/Indonesian school which are offering Medicine needs something called the NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE(NOC) given out by the MOHE. And to get this thing, one of the requirements is that one must get 5 B4's or better in the SPM science subjects. What is this? I'm asking cause I really screwed up my SPM but I made it through my pre-u... Does IMU seniors be it local or PMS ambil barang ni? I would want to jump off the building if I had to retake my SPM. ANY graduates from IMU MPharm? Can you please share your experience? I've searched this thread and found mostly that MPharm practically sucks. Not worth studying etc.
MY offer letter is going to be expired on Monday which is tomorrow and i need some insights on this University just to be prepared and etc. |

QUOTE(Yeyechan @ Dec 20 2009, 12:22 PM) Hi all, wanna ask IMU ppl here something. yes, you need this noc........this was in response to the situation some years back, when these unis, mostly russian and indian and indonesian med schools, were taking in VERY weak students, as long as you can pay the fees..........I was at a education fair just now(I kepo nth to do) and I noticed that AIMST, PIDC, Manipal and those Russian/Indonesian school which are offering Medicine needs something called the NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE(NOC) given out by the MOHE. I'm asking cause I really screwed up my SPM but I made it through my pre-u... Does IMU seniors be it local or PMS ambil barang ni? I would want to jump off the building if I had to retake my SPM. however, it does not apply to local courses, but applies to the overseas ones, and may apply for some of those twinning ones too, eg mmmc.......... it is a weak response to a bad situation......lots of people just bypass the step, and seriously in the present standard of spm, 5 b4's is too low a cut off.......nobody below the top 10 percentile should consider medicine, and effectively means NOBODY who does not have at least 5A's should consider medicine...... in any case, the restriction should not be at spm level anyway, but at the pre-u level......unfortunately there is so many pathways after spm, it was not possible to control that level.......and also, many of the med schools take in students straight from spm, bypassing any pre-u except for their inhouse foundation......... but this is after all bolehland.........everything boleh........ Even in Msia, house officers are over flooding. At present, HKL has 66 HOs in Surgery with only 3 surgical wards.
