Sooo, I am thinking about getting a recon dell optiplex 7010 and upgrade the rig with MSI GT 1030 (Pre-overclocked) or regular zotac GT1030 which is RM 70 cheaper, and of course adding 4 more GB of ram.

Total price will be around RM 10xx-11xx

Will use this rig for work at home and light gaming such as CSGO, Dota 2, CIV 6 and oxygen not included.

worth the investment?? Does anyone have better suggustion for a rig less than RM1200? (Do not mind slowly upgrading monthly after paycheck)

yes,this is a good idea.

but instead of getting a GT 1030, get a used gtx 750ti. this old cpu motherboard might have some issues with new cuda architecture of GT 1030 or GT 10XX series

at the same time its cheaper, GTX 750ti around 200rm only.

Does the GTX 750ti need a 6pin connector? if yes I doubt it would work.

does it not have a 6pin or 8pin pcie power?

from a quick search it seems to be equipped with a 240w psu which is really underpowered if thats true. at least in terms of future upgradability.

This is nonsense. Ivy bridge will have no issues with cuda support

I done my research, small factor card like these have no issue fitting in, future small factor cards will work too, But I do doubt there will be a big change in the near future in term of performance.

Which version 7010 ? SFF or tower ones. If you got tower ones, you can get full height gpu. If not , you are only restricted to half-height card . Gtx750 Ti only can ve considered if significantly cheaper in used market. If not , the buy gtx1030. If you got Tower version chassis, I will definitely go for used gtx1050
