From what I observed, other than the new INTEL CPU and SDD hard drive, other specs seem to stagnate, for laptops.
I would expect after so many years of waiting, a HDD space of 3 Terabyte is something not much to ask for, but we still have 500GB hard disk. WTF?
What is wrong?
Why so stagnant leh?

Well, a few years back 2Tb was not available. Thats doubling of capacity.
Don't forget graphics and displays which also improved plenty.

Anyway demand for 9.5mm 2.5 inch drives must not be high or a priority. High End users typically go for SSD storage plus NAS/external storage.

stagnant ? not at all. if youre willing to pay the premium over desktop.

what youre seeing stagnant is on the low end.

youll still be seeing the future still have the same 500gb hdd instead of 512gb of ssd on the low end. by the time 512gb ssd became mainstream the high end would probably have 5tb ssd.

price vs perf vs form factor

Because you have more upgrade options with a desktop. Much cheaper.

If you're not willing to give up portability, then go for laptop.
