What AAA games you want to play?
If GTX 1070 is enough might as well save the money.
*
Assassin's Creed Origins, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, The Witcher 3, destiny 2 and maybe upcoming Final Fantasy XV

Upgrade the GPU. GTX 1070 is for 2560x1440. Not recommended for 3440x1440.

will my i5-4690 bottleneck gtx1080ti?

because online tech reviewer mention that old core i5 not enough for ultrawide gaming

Should be excellent with 1080p ultra on GTX 1070.
If you want top notch performance, GTX 1080 it is.
*
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and The Witcher 3 barely run at average 40fps at ultra setting sweat.gif

i don't think gtx 1080 will get me 60fps stable

I believe ghost recon wildlands itself is very demanding...witcher 3 should be ok
what is your CPU/GPU usage when playing?

Seem like your CPU maybe bottlenecking ghost recon...same go to witcher 3?

*
this gameplay only at 1920x1080 right?

my monitor resolution is 3440x1440, it has more than twice pixel than 1920x1080

i can get The Witcher 3 run 60fps if i lower setting to high

It should be ok since higher resolutions bottlenecks GPU. FF XV requirement is brutal though.

You can test how good is your PC with the benchmark:

*
just test FF XV benchmark

my gpu usage alway 99% but cpu usage only 40-70%

here my result in 4k

with current graphic card prices it might be hard to find a 1080ti for 4k anyway, not to mention even with such card it's likely you'll still experience some fps dips in certain scenes in AAA games with maxed out settings.

I'd keep using the 1070 till the new card comes. maybe upgrade to a ryzen even and keep collecting $$ while waiting for the new card
*
almost all 1080ti 5k plus now

i prefer intel build, but nvidia new card still TBA

just got offer for i7-8700, msi z370 gaming plus and kingston hyperX ddr4 8gb for total rm2200
