I'm using Zeiss lenses. Honestly I'm disappointed. I went from Crizal (Essilor) to Zeiss. With Crizal, the coating went off really quick. Some blame it on heat, shampoo, etc. I did the same thing with my previous pair Hoya and it's still good.
Anyway, went with Zeiss (Bought from forumer and I guess you knew who) and after 1 years++, I'm not impressed. It's miles better than Crizal for sure but it scratches like crazy. Maybe the coatings on the scratches went off as well. Not to say I'm being conned or anything, but I think the additional coatings on these lenses are super fragile. You'll probably noticed one side is badly scratched and the other is ok.
My >5 years old Hoya had little scratches but it did have some chips and it turned yellowish. Still miles better than both Crizal and Zeiss.
I'm also reaching third year on my Zeiss photofusion, got from Focus point. My friend and I also faced the same issue of coating scratches, we don't really take care of our glasses that well (drop it on the ground, wash with normal soap) but wipe with microfibre most of the time, and both of us also have coating failure near the nose area (not sure is caused by oily skin or not).
Due for lens changing, still deciding which brand to go for next. Probably ditching photofusion as it gives a greyish tint (and expensive)but very versatile if going in and outdoors a lot.
*I remember there was a eyewear shop owner telling me to shy away from Hoya due to weak coatings about 7-8 years ago, probably things are a lot different now
