Has any one of you ever noticed when you do any dictation (eg. Google Now, voice keyboard) the phone uses the TOP mic?
I found this to be a nice touch. I always thought people looked stupid holding their phone outwards and speaking to the bottom. |

QUOTE(mat79 @ Feb 7 2018, 01:55 PM) Btw, telegram today got update, v4. 8, n now its 64bits. Previous version, 32bits. Shame on fb n whatsapp n telegram, still using 32bits libs. All software company must prioritize their engineering resources. Adding features make many people happy. Change to 64bit libs only make a few geeks happy. |

QUOTE(kianwee @ Feb 10 2018, 11:40 PM) Yup. I share the same thought with you about the camera. It’s over processed and oversharpened. I ditch my iPhone for this and I really hope huawei fix the camera post processing in the upcoming firmware updates. Or else I might go back to Apple for the sake of the camera. I'm one of those who likes the processing though. So I disagree that it should be "fixed". Maybe a toggle, but not a "fix". Every device should be unique in its own way to separate itself from the others. There are simply people with different preferences. |

QUOTE(arbok @ Feb 11 2018, 09:21 AM) But that's called the beauty mode. Processing, particularly blurring of features like the texture on lips for example is overdone in a regular photo. Whatever it is at whatever stage it's done, i'm generally happy with the end results for its use case - FB, IG, keepsake. If it was destined some kind of production use, then i'd be taking things more seriously and would most likely use a different set of gear. I have chosen not to care about those things because to me they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. I am the sort of demographic that suits this phone. |

QUOTE(changehern @ Feb 12 2018, 11:32 AM) As you can see from the screenshot below, I used GMaps for about 1hr 20mins with high accuracy GPS and auto-brightness and the battery use was about 837mah. My battery percentage dropped about 20% during this time. I've downloaded the area I'm navigating (offline areas) but have mobile 4G data on during my usage. Does anyone else have this experience and can offer advice? I'm wondering if it's because the Kirin 970 is not optimized for Google Maps as the app is not used in China. Thanks! Probably the screen... |

Mate 10 users - do you use the off screen navigation button or the virtual navigation bar?

I'm still having problems with Digical and Business Calendar widget not updating. Only Huawei's calendar and Google calendar widgets update.
Anyone know a fix for it? |

How did you record this? Not sure what happened, the only thing i changed between my previous test at work and now at home is the particle effect. It was on medium previously and now i max it out. Almost 60fps lock. 720p30 video btw. |

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Mar 24 2018, 11:24 PM) Here's the same screenshot under Mate 9. Notice how much more pleasing the font and element sizes are. Plus the status bar looks more diminutive in a good way too. I want this for the Mate 10. Any way to change it? You can try using small view mode but regular font size.Don't be too disappointed by the font size. It is for people like me with bad eyesight. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Mar 28 2018, 08:39 AM) That big of a deal? I skimmed through the reviews. Nothing particularly impressive. The camera tech is a good try but ultimately I preferred Samsung's final image.Edit: I skimmed through the launch. So much of "my d*** is bigger than your d***". QUOTE(mat79 @ Mar 28 2018, 12:28 PM) "Another distinction between Huawei’s various lenses is that the two main cameras don’t have optical image stabilization like the telephoto one: Huawei thinks its artificial intelligence stabilization (AIS, in Huawei-speak) is all that’s required. AIS works on the basis of object recognition, understanding the outlines of shapes, and ensuring that they stay consistent from one frame to another. It’s available in video mode and all the way up to the maximum 5x zoom." |
