I googled for you. Try:

Settings / General / Accessibility / Vibration
*
it was 'on' all the time.

I just tried the setting. The vibrate comes and goes according to what I set.

Try reboot your phone. Maybe even a full reset.
*
I had done a reset all settings and problem still persists.

And I can confirm it is the vibration problem. I tested the test iPhone X at Apple shop. If vibration is on, it should vibrate when 3D Touch or in other apps. Now my phone totally does not vibrate at all.

Even when toggling the vibration on and off also no vibration.

damn. Dun know simi problem is it. Today will do a full back and erase content and settings to try. If still cannot solve, must send in for repair already.

one thing very irritating is the transfer speed of iphone x. obviously it is still using usb 2.0 instead of usb3.0 or 3.1. the transfer of photos from iphone x to pc or mac is damn slow. especially if you have a huge gallery of photos.

imagine if the 256gb iphone x is full with photos/videos, it will take days or week to download finish all to the pc.

Hmm, I’ve never tried iTunes backup from PC before. Maybe should check it out.

My 256gb ipx is currently about 84gb used up. Photos and videos are auto backed up to my Google Drive so am not so worried about losing these data.
*
i am using itunes backup. i dun use cloud storage for my photos/videos. tongue.gif

one thing about cloud backup, it requires a lot of bandwidth. next time u want to offload to local pc, it will also takes significant amount of times too.

Ah I see. I prefer cloud storage, generally. With 300Mbps time fibre at home, bandwidth is not a concern for me.
*
cloud is good. but security is also a concern.

for personal stuff, it is still good to keep it offline. tongue.gif

Does anyone have overheating issue on their ipx? My phone sometimes will get throttled when playing certain games and it will automatically dimmed the display.
It also happened when I'm using the phone outdoor about afternoon or when the weather is hot.
*
No. I use my iPhone X since day 1 launch till now. Never feel hot at all.

malaysia tax is ridiculous. USD999 = RM4000 at least. where does the extra rm800 come from........
*
not purely becos of tax. It is because of currency too. When it is other currency, Apple’s selling price does not exactly follow the market exchange rate. Same for lion city also.

regretted to use the HEIF/HEVC high-efficiency formats. very difficult to transfer the photos/videos out due to huge size. by rite, when copying those formats to a machines that are not compatible with the format such as older version of macOS and Windows, it should do the auto conversion while copying, but always timeout or error while copying huge files.

The HEIC/HEIF format results in smaller files for same quality, no? What computer are you having the timeout issues with?

No problem for my Win10 PC.

Windows 10 support coming soon How to open HEIC files in Windows
*
i am using windows 10. only copying huge 4k video files, I am having the transferring issues.

the files are smaller yes, but if you watch this video below, you will know that somehow there is still quality being compromised comparing to JPEG.

given that most systems are not compatible with the high efficiency format plus I am owning the 256gb model, i think i will just use JPEG to save the troubles.

maybe in future, if the formats had become widely acceptable, then I will switch it back.

Update - Anyway, tried copying a file (IMG_XXXX.HEIC 1.61MB) on the phone to the PC using USB cable and the file became IMG_XXXX.JPG 3.42MB on my computer. Auto conversion by latest iTunes, perhaps?
*
yes, if u try to copy high efficiency format on a system such as Windows 10 that does not support it natively, it will do a conversion automatically.

small files generally no issues, it is big files that will cause problems. my 4k videos recorded using iphone X can be few GBs in size.

I did some reading, the auto-conversion setting is on the phone.
*
default is 'automatic'. if u transfer in Windows 10, it will sure do the conversion because Windows 10 does not support the high-efficiency format natively.

even macOS, only the high sierra and higher version support it.

The only reason HEIC size is larger is because you are recording Live photos, which is basically a video recording.
Other than that, HEIC is high efficiency format, better than jpeg which a very old format.
*
my concern is not about the size and i never say HEIC size is larger. obviously the HEIC size is smaller in size due to new format.

I am talking about 4k video recording not photos itself.

Correct me if I am wrong, you said huge size due to HEIF is difficult to transfer 😗. Just disable it on iOS if you don’t like it or lower the video from 4k to HD. Don’t complain about huge file size if you go around shooting 4k videos.
But I agree Windows 10 is pain in ass to view HEIF files, need some codec and registry tweak to view etc etc.

I am talking about the solution of something not talking about avoiding doing something becos no solution.

No matter what format be it high-efficiency or not efficiency, no one or even Apple has declared that one should not take 4K or high resolution videos becos of whichever format one chooses.

I am talking about the fact that 4K videos in high-efficiency has this problem of transferring to non natively supported OS. I shared this here as this is an used thread. And I am sure other users can easily encounter the same issue. As there is no good solution currently. Thus I am sharing that I will be using compatible format instead.

No point for you to try to argue through becos you misread my earlier message in the first place.
