iOS 11 has had a turbulent launch compared to previous versions. Frequent updates to address the issues. Guess current version is more stable.

Watched the video, reviewer sharing his 'own true experience'. 1. Paint not chipping off anywhere on my ipx so far. 2. Back glass has micro scratches, yes. So did my note 5, previously. 3. iOS 11 - I'm not as OCD as the reviewer. Apps not crashing on me, OS is reasonably stable. 4. Notifications are a mess in iOS. This is the one thing about Android that I miss. 5. Battery life is way better than any of my previous phones. Better than my work ip8 too. 6. No headaches, no sore eyes for me. True Tone is very nice, I don't consider it over-yellow. 7. Front camera portrait mode is shit, definitely. Luckily I don't selfie much. Software issue. 8. Pretty ok with the back camera (I think Samsung flagships take better pics though). Video is super! 9. The phone is not perfect. Almost 3 months in and I am still loving it. 10. I don't expect a 5.9K phone to be literally 2X better in all aspects vs a 2.9K phone. Diminishing returns and all that. Thanks for reply. Great points you wrote. Samsung better pics? Thought with both cams having OIS it would be ahead. Guess then the incoming S9 cam may outdo the X. Been a few mentions about the S9 cam. iOS 11 has been ... a bit of problem. The latest update to counter a single character that can cause iMessage to crash.. what's that about? suddenly vulnerable? What about the rest of you all? |

QUOTE(Criollo @ Feb 21 2018, 10:36 AM) 1. Coating: I wonder how this guy chipped his coating, mine looks totally fine and i don't even pay attention to taking care of it. Thanks for reply. Strange that you say the speakers are soft. As the 8s and X have been mentioned to have very loud speakers compared to the usual Android flagships. 2. Strongest glass: *Looks at phone* well no scratches yet. In a case since day 1. 3. iOS11: Don't have any major quips, it works fine most of the time. I do need to restart the phone every couple of days because it starts to work up (eg: screenshots stop displaying) *Halfway through the video I realize that i have a more laid back attitude towards stuff like this wheres he is a bit more OCD/demanding as he is a "heavy user"* 4. Battery life: it was great, until 11.2.5 5. App Optimization: I think this depends on developers no? 6. Headaches/Sore Eyes: 7. Speakers: Actually i feel the speakers are a weak point, its abit soft 8. Cameras: I love the 4K video shooting mode too haha. Front cam has always been kind of a dud. I will use the back cam even if i want to selfie. 9. Hand vs phone ratio: Well i do have smol hands, so no issues here. *Up to this point, i feel he just is not suited to use the iPhone X, he should stick to his iPhone 8+...* That being said i'm not what most consider a heavy user, social media, some games thats all so all the problems he has encountered are not as apparent to me. As a standard user, the phone is working up to my expectations. Camera wise lots of praise for the new Pixels. That is while waiting for the S9s. The front cam/ selfie cam being not so great is an issue I guess on the point of high price tag so expectations are that all features match it. Mainly the winning edge for any phone is going to be the camera and battery life. Hope the next X will make the camera to match the competition. Battery will take a hit with OLED screen, right? Better with LCD? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Best part is after all the fuss and fun made about the X, the new Redmi note 5 has same cam placement and the upcoming Asus is said to feature a notch! |
