Hi Space Gray owners, I would like to ask the condition of your SS after months of usage. I just got mine last month, its been in a hard case for a while and two fine scratches developed due to like dust rubbing against it i think. Anyhow I changed to TPU gel case, after 3 weeks, there are like the coating peeling off leaving like small dots on my phone, as of now there are like 3 dots already. I have another 2 months to go until I can upgrade, any suggestion?

Inspected my wife's Space Grey unit last night, and the stainless steel sides still look pristine. Using Otterbox Statement case since Day 1. Dots and micro scratches are normal, I guess, but the coating peeling off seems serious. You have a photo of it?

Maybe not peeling off, but like it triggers my mild OCD. The rest of the phone is pristine but theres dots and micro scratches.

Luckily I use case ahahhaa. Somehow the glass is damn bad huh, my father’s 8 Plus also has scratches all over the glass. But im focusing on the stainless steel, have a few dots and micro scratches

yes, i have been using it since day 1. it is soft feeling but very solid for drop protection. I had dropped a few times my iphone x. no issues.

Mine is a very cheap one for drop protection but scratches if got dust in between. Sucks to have this happen hahah

Micro-scratches on the frame of the iPhone X are caused normally by cases which are loosely-fitted to the phone itself.

So far have been using original authentic UAG cases (UAG Monarch which I bought for RM229) and they have not scratched my iPhone X at all.

Currently just got an ElementCase Formula (which I bought for RM419) and the rubber quality feels as premium as the UAG Monarch - which feels very sturdy, solid and tight, so likely it would not cause scratches too (*touch wood though!)

Mine is cheap case but its not loosely fit though, I take it out once in a while though, do you think dust could have been stuck in between and scratched it as I dont always wipe the stainless steel clean when putting it back in

mine is space gray, so no stainless steel to clean. it is coated so easier to maintain.

i always think that silver version the stainless steel part should be very susceptible to scratches.

Nah mine is the space gray one too, but dust could have came in contact with it thus creating micro abrasions when put in a case

My case is perfectly fine for me. It is softer feeling case. Works very well for me. My iPhone X I still in pristine condition.

Mine is tougher type, good for protecting phones from drops. Drawback

My iPhone X sides alot of scratches whistling.gif
Luckily mine is the stainless steel silver, so can polish off the scratches.

hahahaha I also use stainless steel X before. Lots of scratches easily without a case, but easy to polish. Heck, I even dropped it but the dent not obvious, probably can polish kaw kaw to remove
