Watched the video, reviewer sharing his 'own true experience'.

1. Paint not chipping off anywhere on my ipx so far.
2. Back glass has micro scratches, yes. So did my note 5, previously.
3. iOS 11 - I'm not as OCD as the reviewer. Apps not crashing on me, OS is reasonably stable.
4. Notifications are a mess in iOS. This is the one thing about Android that I miss.
5. Battery life is way better than any of my previous phones. Better than my work ip8 too.
6. No headaches, no sore eyes for me. True Tone is very nice, I don't consider it over-yellow.
7. Front camera portrait mode is shit, definitely. Luckily I don't selfie much. Software issue.
8. Pretty ok with the back camera (I think Samsung flagships take better pics though). Video is super!
9. The phone is not perfect. Almost 3 months in and I am still loving it.
10. I don't expect a 5.9K phone to be literally 2X better in all aspects vs a 2.9K phone. Diminishing returns and all that.

Thanks for reply. Great points you wrote. Samsung better pics? Thought with both cams having OIS it would be ahead. Guess then the incoming S9 cam may outdo the X. Been a few mentions about the S9 cam.

iOS 11 has been ... a bit of problem. The latest update to counter a single character that can cause iMessage to crash.. what's that about? suddenly vulnerable?

What about the rest of you all?

OIS alone is not the determining factor for good photos. I kinda prefer the pics taken on my wife's S8+.

The ipx killer features for me are battery life (especially the low idle batt drain) and the smallish form factor but large display. I am no longer into gigantic phones after using 3 generations of Galaxy Notes.

iOS 11 was initially quite buggy but it's been alright after a few releases. I like that Apple is focused on fixing issues big and small, and delivering regular updates.

The problem seemed to reoccur again this morning. However I tried Google Maps and the location fix was fast. Pretty sure it’s a Waze on iPhone X problem.

Edit: Just updated phone to iOS 11.2.6 and reboot. Waze App is normal for now.

hmm.. so far mine still ok since sunday.. still 11.2.5.

Yes my Waze also having similar issue, map doesn’t show correctly.
The ip x is the most buggy iphone thus far.
Am disappointed to be frank.

Watched Steve job movie yesterday, and u will understand more about the value of apple lol.
High price, closed system, etc.
We can’t blame apple for no new thing developed. As iPhone itself already included so much of different tech into one peace of thing.
If new thing it must be something out of a smartphone.

The next big thing should be AI, which expected it will be existed in all of our daily life. But look at Siri. Speechless lol

Ya, actually, we had the same amount of bugs when iPhone 6 Plus was first released so I guess this is to be expected being a first gen phone of a new design. But I like the fact that there's always a timely software release to patch up bugs every now and then, which is something Apple does very quickly as they have control of both hardware and software. Anyways, my maps issue on Waze has been solved with iOS 11.2.6 - so far smile.gif

hey X owners, any of you having the X feel like this reviewer/ agree with points raised?

Some here have had for about 3 months right? What's short term conclusion?
*
1. Coating: I wonder how this guy chipped his coating, mine looks totally fine and i don't even pay attention to taking care of it.
2. Strongest glass: *Looks at phone* well no scratches yet. In a case since day 1.
3. iOS11: Don't have any major quips, it works fine most of the time. I do need to restart the phone every couple of days because it starts to work up (eg: screenshots stop displaying)

*Halfway through the video I realize that i have a more laid back attitude towards stuff like this wheres he is a bit more OCD/demanding as he is a "heavy user"*

4. Battery life: it was great, until 11.2.5 biggrin.gif Seems like it went back to normal this week though. Lets see how this goes.
5. App Optimization: I think this depends on developers no? blink.gif
6. Headaches/Sore Eyes: mega_shok.gif Nope. But since he is a self proclaimed heavy user, if he uses the phone 12 out of 24 hours, of course he is eventually going to get a headache...
7. Speakers: Actually i feel the speakers are a weak point, its abit soft biggrin.gif
8. Cameras: I love the 4K video shooting mode too haha. Front cam has always been kind of a dud. I will use the back cam even if i want to selfie.
9. Hand vs phone ratio: Well i do have smol hands, so no issues here.

*Up to this point, i feel he just is not suited to use the iPhone X, he should stick to his iPhone 8+...*

That being said i'm not what most consider a heavy user, social media, some games thats all so all the problems he has encountered are not as apparent to me.

As a standard user, the phone is working up to my expectations.

Thanks for reply. Strange that you say the speakers are soft. As the 8s and X have been mentioned to have very loud speakers compared to the usual Android flagships.

Camera wise lots of praise for the new Pixels. That is while waiting for the S9s. The front cam/ selfie cam being not so great is an issue I guess on the point of high price tag so expectations are that all features match it.

Mainly the winning edge for any phone is going to be the camera and battery life. Hope the next X will make the camera to match the competition. Battery will take a hit with OLED screen, right? Better with LCD? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Best part is after all the fuss and fun made about the X, the new Redmi note 5 has same cam placement and the upcoming Asus is said to feature a notch!

well, i watched the video and i somewhat agree with him.. If the problem faced is on a 500USD phone, still can justify.. but on a 1150USD phone? It should be perfect. We have to accept the phone is a dud.. nice to see but user experience has taken a dive.

we can only hope for two things.. either apple decreases the price or increases the stability and user experience on their next phone.

More of a certainty for the next IPhone would be increase stability & user experience.

There is no perfect phone that pleases everyone. What might be a dud for you might be a well working phone for others.
That said, I had no issues with the X as mentioned by the reviewers except for the lack of fingerprint/touch ID which I still prefer as a 2nd alternative security/unlocking feature.

It’s just pity for some user that feel the iPhone X great hardware being couple with the ‘not up the price tag standard’ iOS11 software...

miss turn is normal, my waze was pointing in opposite direction 😑
Never had this issue even on my old iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 & iPhone 6.

Orientation is a big issue for me. When I use iPhone, it cannot tell me if I am facing north, south, west or what. However my cheap android phone is able to tell me which side I am facing easily. You can test this out yourself when you use the google maps app, but choose “walking” instead of “driving”.

noticed my phone draining battery by a lot when i'm asleep. Sleep 10pm at 99%. Wake up 6am at 86%. On Avg losing about 13% per night despite not using the phone at all?? Only started happening recently. Does youtube app really drain so much battery?

Something is not right then. I unplug the charger at 10pm at 100% and it’s still 100% when I wake up at 6pm - DND mode on, over 100 WhatsApp messages in the background.

i hope Apple would increase the price by at least 30% and come out with some ‘state of the art features’. Then it would be a premium products; state of the art phones that is out of reach for the majorities.

LOL.. apple is targeting services now.. without proper market share, how to push their service?
