QUOTE(KannaSai1 @ May 24 2018, 01:16 AM) How much for the extended warranty ? How to buy ? For Malaysia there is no Apple Care offered for iPhones, so you can only buy third party protection from Switch or Machines or Harvey Norman but that’s only applicable when you buy the phone from them as well.

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ May 23 2018, 11:45 PM) AFAIK, neither Apple nor Samsung officially extend warranty cover for their ip67 and ip68 smartphones when it comes to water damage. Dunno about you guys and girls but I really avoid taking risks with my expensive ‘water resistant’ phones when it comes to water exposure. Old habits die hard I guess. Heard a few cases on the poor waterproofing on iPhone. Water damage with just normal use. Not even submerge into 1m deep with a long period. Kinda annoying. I think iPhone need to change it to splash resistant in stead of water resistant just like one plus 6 lol However, my Samsung s8 server me well with abuse in water most of the time 🤣

For your info, no manufacturers dare to offer warranties for water damage because it will be hard to prove the depth of water your phone went through. The first company which started waterproofed phones was Sony and they had a hard time replacing and repairing water damaged phones.

I use my phones like they have no ip rating. My wife, too and she’s on the s8+.

I do wash my phone at times, I bring it along to the pool and use it while my hands are wet but I dont dip the phone into water. So far so good.

QUOTE(ZenXL @ May 24 2018, 02:59 AM) Thank god, if not sure Purchasing at 5899 and seeing how market price is around 4500, wouldn't want to let go I've brought my X for my swims a few times already, just gotta let it "dry" first before doing anything like charging etc. No problems. Later drop more. Gadgets nowadays no much value compare to Nokia Gold Arte. This post has been edited by Wkwooden: May 24 2018, 06:28 PM

QUOTE(KannaSai1 @ May 24 2018, 11:48 PM) Can charge still, wireless I'm scared to charge using wireless. The last time I did that, the phone and the wireless charger got pretty heated.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ May 24 2018, 03:04 PM) Looking at greedy Fruitphone Co, I wouldnt bet on it. Probably true also, haha. Anyway the fruit phone value also doesn’t hold as well as it used to. So a little wait is also OK QUOTE(kmrdeva @ May 24 2018, 06:35 PM) Luckily I didn’t buy my ipx for its resale value. Gonna hold on it for a minimum of 3 years. Unless it breaks, that is. Shouldn’t be an issue, I think. My colleague’s 6 Plus is coming into its fourth year now and still running fine, albeit a little slowly. This post has been edited by attw: May 25 2018, 07:17 AM
