the more $$ u r paid, the more stress you will get. rewards come hand in hand with responsibilities. u wanna earn a lot? go work in iraq. u get paid lke USD 2 or 3k per day as allowance. thats what my fren told me anyway (his company offered him the job but he chose not to risk).

jobs which are related to $$ (investment, trading, etc) will reward u wif $$ more than other industries.

for me, i don believe in backstabbing others to go up the ladder. no point to do that actually. if other ppl do that, then so be it. it doesn't mean we should follow them in order to be successful. no point doing something which is against ur own principles.

but one thing is, asians tend to be tooooooo conservative. when asked for opinions, nobody dare to voice out. they prefer to voice out behind other ppl's back and not in the meeting or discussion. so if u don voice out, how can people know what u are doing or what you are thinking? don expect people to be mind reader. :|

and don blame the education system for this. well...our culture and the education sys do play a role, but it's not the main reason. if you are willing to speak out, be brave, and not be afraid of other people condemning you...i think it will help a lot. you might not be able to communicate perfectly but the first step is better than zero. that's what i feel anyway.

anyway, i still believe asians can excel provided they are willing to change. be more proactive, more productive, more outspoken. try to read more books. it helps.

p/s... hard and soft skills are both required in order to be successful. knowledge and level of maturity are important also (some people can talk very very well...but behave like kids... so they will end up in the losing end too).

But alas, it's not up to you to define what rich means.

The dictionary defines rich as 'having a great deal of money'. And instinctively, that's absolutely correct.

People who have a lot of money ie. earn, inherit or are given a lot of money are rich. So what if they spend all of it? They are still rich. If you earn 100K a month, and you spend 100K a month, you're rich. Simply because you are capable of benefiting from 100K of goods & services (ie. value) each month.

People who have little money but save a big proportion of it are not rich. They are poor, and will always be poor because of the simple fact that they have little money. Living within your means is not rich. That's simply thrifty. If you earn 1K a month, but only spend 10 bucks, saving 990, you still only have 990. You're poor. You can take all your 'ultra savings' and you still only buy nothing of any real value.

So, it's not how much you spend or how much you save. It's how much you have (to spend or save).

the definition of rich is subjective actually. to you, 100k could be rich but to other people, it's nothing. you might be earning 5k per month in malaysia, but to a singaporean, you're not rich but to people in ...erm...congo, you are very very rich.

and well, when u are earning 100k per month, maybe you will say u are not rich tongue.gif

so there's no point debating what is rich and what is poor. for me, rich = you have the money to live comfortably by getting the NEEDs and occasionally the WANTs.

actually i don consider those commission as the 'salary'. i consider the basic salary as , well, the salary. because for commission, anything can happen which may cause your monthly income to drop.

mc, vacation, economy, etc. so for someone earning 15k per month due to commission, could end up with 4k-5k if things really don go his way
