i have colleagues at 24 earning 6-7k. i believe they have the strength to go beyond management's expectations.. sound familiar?

Honestly, can anyone give a possible view at which field that usually earn >RM5k before 30? Fields mentioned are: financial, oil & gas. How about other field?

IT and Engineering. Its pretty common.

earn more.. but spend even more.. it's always the same whether u can earn more or not unless u r moderate...

Nearly most of the fields can achieve that. Finance and sales line can also achieve that, no big deal.

fresh grad who join company like schlumberger... starting salary about RM5K... working on subsurface exploration and production related works.

Im a fresh graduates (24 years old) and now working in one of the leading advertising company for 3 months already. I have first class degree. My starting salary with the company is RM1800. My probation period is 6 months. I found that my officemate which got her 'confirmed' status this month with no increment. I asked a few senior officer, they told me that this company just give us about 5% increment per year and bonus about 4 months.

Now i realise that my pay is quite low if compare with my classmate which only manage to get 2nd lower degree. Do you think that my pay is low? Based on my story, do you think i can get RM5k figure before im 30 years old which means 6 years more?

working in advertising co means you r multimedia grads? My frens grads from Multimedia:

First Class - Working @ Cyberjaya, 1.9K (After 6 months probation, >2K)
Second Upper - Working @ Subang Jaya, 1.4K (After 3 months probation, 1.6K)
- Working @ Nutrilife, 2K++ (6 months probation)
- Working near Ampang area, 1.6K

pls take ur bonus into account for ur yearly remuneration , u r getting 2400/m average. some company don really look at 1st class or 2nd class, there is a range or may be fixed offer for fresh grad and most of the time u started low , but 2-3yrs down the road , u either get recognized by ur company or in the industry, ur salary jump will be greater , not just 5% annual increment. give urself 1-2yrs of learning n prove urself capable b4 judging the company paying u low salary, it takes time .the most important thing is the potential in this company.

This seems like a really interesting thread. It's great to see a lot of young people (about my age) making quite a lot of money nowadays. Congratulations to everyone.

From my experience, it hasn't always been easy to earn what you want to earn. But, if you believe in yourself, work smart , have a strategic plan and perserverance, I think anyone can achieve their income goals, with or without acedemic qualification.

I m not sure one of the leading advertising company only pay RM 1.8 K ? But, consider 4 months bonus it is OK also la...

First class degree older get better pay because they join big company & get First class incentive (RM200-400)

do part-time, like at Prince Hotel, banquet section, from 8am-8m can get rm120.. per/day, go there for 1 month u might end up work as chef.. lol.. chef can get around 5-8k per/month as i know.. dont know rate by hotel or what..
