Be careful, if you late 1 day, for hire purchase it will appear "1" on your ccris.

Are you sure its 6 months? I thought now is lesser due to stricter bank regulations, about 4 months or is it even shorter now?

Just pay RM100 more than usual to be safe (to cover the interest), wait 1 year and record of late payment gone.

Not necessarily, sometimes certain bank system very "peculiar", the record won't go away until one go check credit agency when simple loan also get rejected....

I thought CCRIS and CTOS only keep 1 year of record of payment? Unless of course it's the bank records themselves, or if there are any legal action taken against you. If there are any legal action taken, the record will be there forever.

In actual fact, the bank "will/should" submit outstanding status monthly. But general industry practice is to wait for 3 months for the CCRIS/CTOS to really get up to date. But sometimes, something in between them just doesn't link and some people's old record still shows up.

However, i'm uncertain of what is the hard written policies of the credit status updates. A good idea is to go for a credit check when planning to get a loan, instead of during the loan application. Sometimes it is just too late, and the business deal just slip out of hand due to lack of financing. I heard a story like that from my mum who works in the bank not too long ago. That client damn furious with the bank my mum is working with...
