Haha iam using aztech homeplug as well, its friggin expensive though sad.gif

I think your laptop has to be connected manually with wires bro, but then again, iam not sure cause i can stream well from my computer (wired-connection) and i havent tried with laptops before.

But i think, its possible. Why dont u try to stream the library of your laptop from the xbox360. Its quite simple really.

I had the homeplug too. Used it for the 1st few months. The thing is bloody HOT!

It didn't last though, got struck by lightning one day. My 360's LAN port got fried as well. Thank God everything else still works like a charm, been almost a year already.

Anyway, I think you can stream from ur wireless laptop. Not sure though but what you need is the newest version of Windows Media Player. I think it's version 11 IIANM. When both the console and the laptop are on, you have to enable file share in the media player on ur laptop. That should do the trick. There should be a guide on Xbox.com. Go look it up.

what i did was i got a burned DIVX cd-r of a movie.
i'm guessing xvid works too,i mean i've ripped a few dvds with xvid i think.well, just to make it small enough for my ipod anyway...

if you try play it on the xbox,it SHOULD ask you to download a codec for mp4 if you're connected to xbox live.mind you, this also lets your xbox play DivX and XviD files.
i don't know about RMVB though...
i'm not sure about this, but i think xbox should have native support for MPEG and WMV files.well,WMV anyway,i'm not sure about MPEG too much.

also,i really don't know about windows media center,i'm using windows media connect,to make things a lot more convenient.i can play my music during games, especially when the in game music sucks(ahem burnout...ahem avril lavigne....)

Hi everyone,

im in a bit of pickle here and i hope all the Xbox live pro players here can help smile.gif notworthy.gif

i jz purchased my Xbox a few days ago, its not modded so it should have no problems getting onto Xbox Live, but everytime i run the network test, i keep failing the MTU test. here's my situation:

1. i connected my Xbox directly to my wireless router through a LAN cable. the wireless router is a TP-Link 54M Wireless Router with Extended Range, model no: TL-WR541G / TL-WR542G model. it is not stated if this model is compatible or not with Xbox live on the Xbox live website.
2. i have set the ip address to automatic and also disabled my router's MAC address filtering. have also tried manually entering the IP addresses and DNS settings also still cannot.
3. i've tried the recommended MTU settings of 1364 and higher but still cannot. the default was 1500.
4. i've placed my region settings as Singapore. does this matter?
5. My internet is actually connected to my condo's private ISP's WAN.so, the only place where i need to enter the ip address and DNS settings are inside the router itself. is it possible that i may need to contact my ISP abt this?

but ever since i've gotten the Xbox, i havent been able to connect to Xbox live at all. i've tried many methods, like connecting the lan cable to my laptop and using a bridge to share the internet also still cannot.

can anyone here plz help me? really wanna get into Xbox live.

i thank everyone in advance for helping me out here. notworthy.gif

@isis, i assume the culprit is your condo private ISP. It's not your router that need to increase MTU but your condo ISP.

@doi0728, it varies from game to game basis. Also with some other factors like players you are playing with and their geo location.

Man. Got a new batch of Live Points cards. They changed the design to include the Windows Live Branding.

But the biggest thing is that essentially the new cards are 2 pieces of hard paper, kinda like greeting card material. Cheap. A reasonable change tho. Plastic is wasted on 1-time use cards.

Any idea when the discounted downloads will end? I kinda wanna pick up Shivering Isles for Oblivion for 1600 points but im still thinking about it.

If you're connected to Malaysian, there's shouldnt be a problem unless you using wireless broadband.

There's a preview program that you can register to get the updates early iirc but too bad the market place isnt working until Nov 19th.
