I am not sure but i don't think you can "de-register" your email account from a gamertag.


Anyway for those loyal Xbox Live user since 2002, go register here for free 500 Microsoft point, small x'mas gift by Microsoft. Not much...but better than nothing, who don't like free stuff?

But after some research, unfortunately you are right!. We cannot de-register the windows live id (email address) from the gamertag Even if you delete your account you can never use the same email to create another new xbox live account. it is forever tied to that. Anyway if anyone is interested, to cancel the xboxlive account, you have to call a number which i can only assume to be international.

Ah well. Thats just for anyone who did a stupid mistake like that. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK ALL INFORMATION!!!! before saving!

guys..is XBL ok or not? i cannot connect la..really missed COD4 MP....my x360 connected to router..when i do the connection test, everything else passed except connection to Live...even on my PC, i cannot login to my account on xbox.com, but other site can open perfectly....WTF???

are you using ori or moded?

as a guy who's planning to buy a 360 real soon (as in the next few days type of soon) there's a couple of things i need to understand first:

since xbox 360 didn't officially launch in malaysia, that means that we have to go be registered as singaporeans right? so... does that mean we have to create a new windows live account with the correct postcode, country, etc?

and when you do have your live membership, are all the xbox live content (demos, trailers, downloads, etc) available, or does it only apply to the country you're in? if so, does the singapore xbox live content contain all the good stuff from US? is it possible to create an account as somebody from the US?

lastly, if somehow i don't have an internet connection, is there any other way to get updates? or are the updates unnecessary?

P.S: a little side question... are game demos on marketplace free?

you can change the region of whatever live account you have here before signing up for a gamertag. it is also necessary to provide a valid post/zip code (and phone number too) during registration of your gamertag. i suggest signing up from the xbox itself so u would be entitled to 1 month xbox live gold. if you create your gamertag from the web, there is no free trial. and be careful what gamertag you choose & which live account u associate it with as gamertag & live account linking is not reversable and changing your gamertag requires payment.
marketplace content varies from region to region, depending on local rating approval. most contents are eventually released to all regions. some content (like gears of war map pack), are IP restricted so you would have to be in the allowed country to download it. not to worry though, most (but not all) game related content are not IP restricted. Video Marketplace (TV & Movies) is currently only available to US and is IP restricted.


you can download major updates from the net & burn it into a disc. not necessary if you dont need the new features or fixes but it is necessary to be updated to connect to xbox live.

Hello guys and gals! Have anyone try to top up ms points using credit card lately. I have problem using my credit card to buy arcade game Undertow. It said "credit card info not valid" Previous got not problem with my credit card. Tried my relative address in Singapore also cannot. Hope it is not region locked as PS3. Can anyone confirm! If it's region locked, guess no choice have to buy prepaid card liew! Sad!

total dissapointment...

bought a 360 this petang, and tried to connect to live, but somehow the IP address test did not pass... i connected my 360 directly to the modem and the modem directly through the phone line, no router and all that stuff.

the error was something like this > X:4000-1001 (the rest was 0000 i think).i also set the all the settings on automatic. please anybody, somebody, whatever, just help me out of this...

you done the setting for the streamyx username and password on your xbox 360?

oh yeah... maybe that's the problem, i HOPE that's the problem.
