no cable needed. simply take off your hdd, replace with your ssd, install new windows on the ssd, voila

if you planned to keep the hdd, you need to buy hdd caddy (just google, shopee, lazada, lelong should have plenty). Put ssd inside caddy and replace the dvd drive

But you will not have the dvd drive though (as the caddy will be put at dvd drive slot)

Normally how much it would cost if I buy the SSD myself and ask others in the computer shop to reinstall the SSD and also OS ?

no idea as I always do it myself. Should be easy enough to learn off youtube(you only need screwdriver). however if you're not confident, always ask a shop to do it.

you can clone the ori hdd into the SSD so you still have all the OS/app without need to reinstall.

Yes...Replace the old 500GB h/D with 128GBSSD...
Now startup takes 10-12seconds....SHutdown takes 5-10seconds...
I clone the OS into the new SSD

Nice move

looking at the laptop, it thin..surely don't have dvd-rom right? so you dont have any choice but to buy a bigger SSD. Just buy the regular Sata SSD to replace the current one. As for the HDD, you can buy external enclosure to make it external HDD. but surely you dont want to install anything on external HDD

Loading OS on SSD is a good choice.
If you have multiple Games plan to be loaded in SSD then choose those really need SSD speed.
Other just go for HD. the HDD will be just like an additional Drive

looking back the spec, it is indeed have dvd-rom. so your are in luck. you can buy this type of HDD Caddy and replace it in the current dvd-rom..So you will have SSD and HDD for the extra storage. but make sure the hdd caddy can support your laptop.

Sure you can, when installing anything, just choose custom install and change the installation path. you will be good to go

If wanna keep the mechanical HDD as well...So we close the OS from the mechanical HDD into the ssd...when boot up (in BIOS) we set the priority boot to select the sdd, after boot in successful then format the old OS partition at the mechanical HHD

The process correct? hmm.gif

There is a Restore to Factory OS button in ASUS laptop... I Click that and restore a blank OS in HDD...
Then use EASUS, if not mistaken, then Clone HDD OS(primary)->SSD(Secondary).
Then Swap HDD with SSD, so my new SSD is primary.
As there is not enough for SSD, HDD and DVDROM to co-exist in the laptop. I have taken out HDD tp be an external Harddisk

As bios, there is only one harddisk there...
