will be replacing my tyres from my friend's dad's tyre shop and his dad recommended me to use Pirelli

any reviews?

- treadwear (after how long)
- average speed (cruising)
- how often you accelerate more than 120km/h (and hows the treadwear?)
- road condition stability? (wet, dry, etc)

any reviews would be good! thumbup.gif

Pirelli normally overprice here, if cheaper than michelin sport or conti sport could try. The grip performance & comfort nearly like contisport but not long last like michelin sport4.

hi

thanks for replying nod.gif

did google around here (and also specifically on lowyat.net but most reviews are quite old.. many said acceleration wise.. kinda quiet and very smooth/stable? nod.gif

anyway,

1. manage to get promo.. only RM310 (maybe giving friend price sweat.gif )
2. by last long did you mean only use like what? 3 months? 6 months? or 1-2 years before tread wears badly? hmm.gif

Pirelli treadwear nearly like Continental ContiSport, daily normal use(50km daily) could go to 1+ year, heavy use 6-8 months(100km daily).
Michelin sport normally can go +- 2 years. My experienced with Pirelli P7, silent & comfort, but no really confident when cornering at high speed coz soft compound nearly like Goodyear Assymetric 2/3.

mind me asking what car are you driving? nod.gif

so far im using 2 china tyres in front (jinyu).. tread wears very fast!

6 months only no more already

my speed consist of average 60-80km/h

sometimes go up to 120km/h on empty highways (but almost daily because on the way to work the highway got a short stretch where its empty as heck!)

only about 3-4km though the empty path...

pirelli p1 cinturato i used before.very durbale tyres but crack after 1 year used at centre part.but stil can use.not serious crack.i think some other brand might have this issue too.claim to be low rolling resistance for fuel saving but doesnt feel much different.
v speed rating can go up to 240kmh so on worries about the heat.threadwear high,i cant remember,400 above i think.
recomended michelin primacy la.i used 3st more satisfy.haha

hmm so far my experience with tyres

good year has gone "oval" for the past 2 times i've used GY. then changed to Jinyu tyres for the front (so far ok but treadwear quite fast.. although its still pretty thick)

a little noisy on the road

and suprisingly this time the GY (rotated to the back) is currently running well and didnt go "oval" but its quite thin so its time to change.

currently thinking to change all 4 to pirelli if needed. but seems like pirelli is so less review here and not a big market rclxub.gif

although i've read many say good but have to experience it yourself..

Forget about Pirelli P1/P7 whatever, get Hankook V12 Evo 2 for this size, surely much cheaper but can outperform most Pirelli except probably the most expensive P Zero series! This tire is the best value for money now, performing nearly as good as expensive top tires like Pirelli P Zero PZ4, Michelin PS4, Continental Sport Contact 5, Goodyear F1A3 but at much cheaper price. For your size should be able to get for just rm300 or even below. I put this tire on my wife's car and I absolutely love it! (I had used Michelin PS3, Goodyear F1 series, Continental Sport Contact series, and Bridgestone Potenza series etc. so I know how a good set of high performance tires can be).

changed all 4 tyres to pirelli

so far...

- driving experience is really extra smooth

- but cornering abit unstable sweat.gif (cant corner like how i used to with my old tyres)

- really less noise while going through yellow lines!!!

Just change my 2 year old Yokohama tyre with Pirelli Powergy, 215 55 17inch. Dunno its performance but perhaps for two weeks 'balik kampung', Johor to Kuantan and Perak, hopefully it will meet my expectation.
