Speaking as an Xbox user, I see this as a long term good plan. But seeing as EA titles have always been multiplatform, I'm not sure if this will backfire in some way. Can EA afford not to have their games available on all platforms? The whole point of owning first party studios is to make exclusive games that are not available elsewhere. But then again, Microsoft let Mojang continue selling and supporting Minecraft on other platforms. This is nothing like what we're used to seeing for a first-party studio.
Valve though? I just don't see it happening. Valve is synonymous with PC games now. More than Games for Windows Live ever was. Of course money talks, so, this still could be a possibility.
And PUBG? Just go for it Microsoft. You need all the help you can get.
