yeah. 20GB for rm20 is the best. i used to be on 6Mbps unlimited for yoodo but find it no point. becos i used less than 20gb per month. haha.

went to KL/genting few weeks back. and now back to jaybee to use 5G. i realised that jaybee has overall much more coverage of 5G comparing to KL area. most of the mature area has 5G coverage. even my own house is under 5G coverage.

realised the reason why previously i cannot see 5G on my iphone 14 pro max. i am using esim (yoodo) and physical sim (singtel mvno) on my iphone. I previously set lion city physical sim as primary sim for data, that's why even when i am on roaming for the physical sim, it does not show 5G under the signal icon on the right upper top of the phone.

when i was in KL, i tried to switch the primary data to yoodo (esim) then only i can see 5G sign shown on my iphone.

best part about yoodo is the sim card is totally free no matter physical or esim. this is much better comparing to any other telcos. so any foreigner can easily activate yoodo esim as their data plan to use when they visit bolehland.

good thing about free physical sim is that they never expire. so can keep it for spare for future use. or even pass to friends/family members to use.

my experience with yoodo 5G is good. at least now some of the places without good 4G signal or the 4G is congested at the area, 5G can come into help in this situation since very little ppl on 5G now still.

however, the data usage on 5G is certainly much faster than 4G. i went to KL/genting for 5 days. on day 3 i already needed to activate a new plan to continue to use data (that time my old plan was activated for half a month only). previously my 20GB rm20 plan can last me before the next monthly renewal with no issue.

of course on travel, i will tend to use more data but it is certainly much faster in terms of usage on 5G.

to be frank. rm5 only for 5G is totally reasonable. rm25 in total for a 20GB monthly with 5G acces is real cheap.

one can still choose not to opt for 5G and stay at 4G for rm20 also.

the coverage of yes5G with celcom is totally different level.

it is worth it if ur area 4G is congested or not good, 5G will come in handy to compliment it.

i am referring to 4G. u can use yes5G at cheaper price than yoodo by just a bit. but u will suffer for 4G coverage and speed which will be a serious deal breaker.

Certainly. So it not even apple to apple comparison given how poor the coverage of 4G for yes4G/5G. Cheap but u also get what is equivalent.

Becos yes5G is not registered with apple as an approved carrier I think.

Something interesting: I managed to receive calls for free in lion city even though I did not subscribe to any roaming add-on.

Previously I could still receive calls when I was in lion city but when I answered the calls that time the calls would simply dropped.

But surprisingly now I could answer the call and continue on the conversation with no issue.

Am on rm20 20GB plan per month without any add-on.

Few days already confirmed can receive calls and no charge while I was in lion city.
