Hi all. What is FUP for unlimited data plan 3mb and 6mb? Is it 100gb. Now looking for data plan for watch HD or 4K movie on weekend. Is it 6mb speed enough? Or need to subscribe high speed data plan.
*
the FUP so far noone knows the exact amount. their website didnt state any number. have to dig a bit to find out.
watching HD or 4K depends on your coverage. if you have good coverage then 6mbps should be 'good enough' to stream movies.
but u can try first with 20gb (Rm20) to see if it is enough.
if it is, then u can keep buying the 20Gb everytime the data depletes.

Rm20 for 20gb is high speed Internet. No problem at all. Thinking of buy unlimited due to higher data usage by my kids
*
ur kids use data for video streaming?
if you're using it in the device then i think 1 device wont be much problem bro
the unlimited 6mbps should be enough then, but u wont be able to use the number on multiple device
if you do hotspot with 2 device online it'll be lagging for video streaming
6mbps wont be good enough for that usage

Yoodo don't have FUP as of now.

You can't stream 4k with 6mbps. FHD 1080p is possible. This provided your coverage is stable.

For 3mbps, only HD 720p.. and FHD 1080p might buffer.
*
if used in modem, i think speed also drops when more than 1 user connects to it
and depends on the modem type also

that is why i suggest taking the 20gb for RM20, then renew plan everytime quota depletes
this way u always have max speed available in your area + device supports

QUOTE(Natsukashii @ Jan 5 2023, 09:07 PM)
I thought when FUP mentioned, it referred to the mobile data usage.

If want to use on modem, it follows how much hotspot is given. RM20 for 20gb should give 20gb of hotspot as well.

Unlimited 3mbps and 6mbps plans don't have FUP for mobile usage, but hotspot included is only up to 6GB.

However, you said renew plan everytime quota depletes.. I think after quota depleted, you have to purchase booster, there's no 20gb for rm20, that's how it was when I used yoodo last time, maybe now can renew the entire plan?
*
yes bro.
first, enable auto-renew
you can only do this with Auto Renew enabled yah
so after quota habis, there is a button bawah tu "BUY MORE" and "CHANGE PLAN"
go click the CHANGE PLAN, just choose the 20gb rm20 plan again and buy
this is a good 'hack' to get the cheaper 20gb again and again
so after u know ur usage u can budget it next time

the official plans is actually quite good if u know ur usage
QUOTE
RM20 for 20GB
RM40 for 40GB
RM58 for 60GB
RM68 for 80GB
u can repeat the hack for all the plans everytime u habis sudah kuota bro

So, MNP promotion does not apply in his case.

he just want a useable number to use and throw away later. as he said.
so those promo doesnt bother him, he said it himself.

if u're using iphone 12 and above just use the esom from yoodo, even better
or any android phones that supports esim ie galaxy or pixel series
ya sorry sis

iphone can store more than 1 esim.
u can choose to activate it anytime u want.

but using in router, yes u need the high speed data and not the unlimited plan

QUOTE(SleeplessEyes @ Jan 15 2023, 08:40 AM)
It means between you and your tower:
a) Possibly you are abit far from the tower
b) Tower is mildly congested, thats why the higher upload speed.
c) Depends on device

When i said depends on device - Yes. It happens. If your device doesnt support CA/LTE-A then you will get single digit performance.
Never ever subscribe to 6mbps without testing the network first.

OK this is mine. 8am in the morning. Device is a Huawei Nova 4E. Doesnt support CA.
Oh BTW, sorry - This is not unlimited plan. This is based on 20GB data plan .

user posted image

MVNO or not as commented by JLA, this is highly dependant on the factors I mentioned above.
Unless there is an official statement by Yoodo that the bandwidth is less prioritized by Celcom, I will only take it as a myth.
*
true. and congestion happens to EVERY user, be it unlimited with speed capped or non-limited speed ones
the device parts really makes a big difference because using iphone and wifi modem with no 4g+ supports cuts the speed in nearly half; using the data plan (not unlimited)

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 15 2023, 10:03 AM)
Recently yoodo network has been very inconsistent outside. Sometime I can have strong coverage but data is not moving.

Previously was perfect.
*
refer to above quote
might be growing user in the area, congested. or maybe small maintenance.
and somehow restarting my device helps to connect back to 4G+ when it is suddenly drops to E (EDGE)
i will first try airplane mode but if it didnt help then restarting the phone does something similar to jumpstarting the network connection

my friend is using Maxis Postpaid with 3 supplementary lines. He wants to port all to Yoodo but Yoodo says the supp lines must be decouple first before porting over. I wonder why Celcom can grab the principle and supp lines all at once but Yoodo cant
*

simple because Yoodo as a MVNBO doesnt have supp lines
every line is principle lines

No, he doesn't want supp lines. He wants to convert his maxis supp lines to principles at Yoodo
*
yes hence i said it because he said he wants to transfer all his principle and supp lines to yoodo
cant do sh1t like that captain, because yoodo does not, i repeat DOES NOT have supp lines
so he have to unbind the supp lines first and bring those numbers to yoodo

something when i write too short it's not enough, then writing it all in too much boring explanation would be seen as arrogant does it?

Anyone used the RM20 for 20GB?

How's the speed? Worth it to get?
*
i have been using it more than a year
just get the 20gb and then when the data expires before renewal date, just re-purchase the plan
speed depends on device, congestion and also area of coverage;
just like any other telco plans

for those who keeps suggesting yoodo gets to stick with celcom, i can ensure you this topic was HEAVILY debated upon few months ago

the reality is: in order to merge with Digi, Celcom have to let go ownership of Yoodo. COMPLETELY. no hanky panky, celcom xpax ka, plus ka, whatever it is cannot.

they even stated that the full release will only be do-able if celcom doesnt put their staff (or ex-staffs) into the company prior to release from celcom. meaning: sell it off COMPLETELY. hoping any other telco (maxis, obviously) wants to take Yoodo under it's umbrella of business

but looking at the cheap price, i think no sane company will want to take over Yoodo so far. unless the buyer decides to CHANGE the pricing to make it PROFITABLE for them

yes, it's all bout money, FOR THEM. not for users. no bull$h1t no one cares for the user when it's damn cheap. so lets hope the next company that takes over Yoodo can somehow maintain the pricing and quota.

the end.

y must sell? what's the rationale?
*
celcom and digi merger, digi says that yoodo is making them lose profit
so in order to merge, get rid of yoodo
so they (digi, and celcom) can sell plans at higher price
IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY

kinda sad, i really like the way they manage the offerings...
*
its gona take some time and for sure u can just MNP a month before the expiry of Celcom's Yoodo
by that time there should be a lot of talks for Yoodo's replacement
and dont forget about coverage issue also~
