I own a 2005 waja 1.6 MT. Recently I just went on outstation to the east coast. I was in a real hurry so I hit the acc all the way. I made it in 5 hrs non stop (KL to KB via raub gua musang~600km maybe). Upon returning to my place suddenly, the idling rpm got problem. It went to low ( almost zero) causing engine to vibrate and chocking and finally died.
Then I also notice the engine indicator lights up randomly while driving. While approaching red light for example I will switch to a lower gear but while pressing the cluth on, the rpm went straight away to 0 and engine automatically die off as well.
Went to proton authorised service. they hook up a diagnosis tool to the ECU. found that the throttle body sensor malfunction. the sensor reading on the body throttle position is 3000++ (where the normal reading would be 800~900.... can't recall the unit of measurement............ this according to the mechanic. I know nothing bout this thing.) CAll the proton parts center they quote me rm3K for the throttle body set and rm1.7k for the sensor. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Can anybody help me to find a good chop shop for this thing?

Apart from that it is cheaper. If it happen to be a common part, then I can just get the 4G9x throttle body and swap the sensor to my waja. All i need is to replace the throttle body sensor. thanks

The throttle body should also be reverse .. I suggest u go to kedai potong .. ask for ur throttle body .. might come a lot cheaper

This is what I mean. If we look at the sensor itself, one that send signal to ECU (connected using coupler and electrical wiring) not the entire set consist of throttle body and sensor, is there any possibility of both sensors for 4G1x and 4G9x are actually the same.

regulary cleaning and an oil catch tank will advoid this problem from arising after you have changed to a new unit.

Actually 600km in 5 hours works out an average speed of 120km/h only, the sensor was probably on it's way out already and not because of the speeding, but the price is really quite steep.

Ok guys........ after the long exhausting 2 weeks, I have found the throttle body. I've bump into someone on the net who are apparently putting some waja engine parts for sell after new engine conversion. I was so lucky. Anyway thanks guys for all the feedback.

Well I was guessing it's 600km. It was a non stop journey for 5 hrs. On some stretches you just have to do 50km/hr or less, so you need to really hit the gas to make it about 100km/hr on average.
