Hi !

We all know that whey protein powders are often filled with unwanted ingredients such as creatine or even worse, sometimes without informing the customer.

In Europe, a few brands try to compete over transparency, sharing chemical tests openly with their customers.

I wondered if there was such a brand in Malaysia, with maximal guarantee over the ingredients/purity/safety of their product ?
Maybe a few brands i should avoid ?
Where should i buy it ?

Thanks !

why do you think creatine is unwanted? many people are consuming creatine on a regular basis and get awesome gains.

Yes, of course it's safe, many sportsmen take protein not from regular food, but from sport nutrition, it's much easier to consume the necessary amount of protein, or get rid of fat.

grossly misconstrued

Whey protein is a consensus safe food to consume, however of late there were some adverse discoveries from seemingly and likely biased research sources resulting in many athletes averting whey as one of the main source of protein.

This is not an article showing why whey protein is bad but about how a renown quarterback in the NFL decides to reduce dairy

excerpted from the article

"In 2016, Rodgers cut dairy from his diet. He told ESPN’s Rob Demovsky in 2016 that he eats a vegan-like diet but adds in doses of chicken and some red meats. He also said he follows an “80/20” model – 80% of his meals are healthy while he enjoys the other 20%."

Thanks for your replies ! I didn't know Myprotein delivered to Malaysia, makes things way easier.

By the way, are the ON products found in retail shops originals ? They have a code to authenticate the product on www.authenticateon.com,
but i see no trace of 'www.authenticateon.com' on ON's official website on the page about counterfeiting. Why didn't they use their official domain optimumnutrition.com ?
I tried to contact their customer service, but they replied with an automated response to take a picture of the product etc...

since when whey protein got creatine?
if you want safe, just buy myprotein or optimum nutrition.

Back in the day powders contained lots of crap, a friend's sister worked in marketing for this field, and her everyday advice was "do not ever buy this shit".
I also remember seeing wheys and mass gainers with creatine inside years ago, but it was written on the ingredient list.
You can find more here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodybuilding_...ent#Controversy

A beautiful quote :
QUOTE
For example, the "natural" best-seller Craze, 2012's "New Supplement of the Year" by bodybuilding.com, widely sold in stores such as Walmart and Amazon, was found to contain N,alpha-Diethylphenylethylamine, a methamphetamine analog.

You'd take death sentence in Malaysia eating this shit doh.gif

True, but creatine (or cheap creatine ?) causes some people to store a lot of water. And as i already store a lot of fat in my arms, last time i used creatine during bulking my arms looked like big water balloons...

It does ! But not everyone get the same volume out of it, check this out :

28 studies corroborating :
QUOTE
Appears to have a large effect on increasing overall weight due to water retention in persons who respond to creatine supplementation. Degree of increase is variable.

True ! But whey protein is a nice shortcut, allows you to still hit your protein intake goal with minimum investment in time and money.

The consumption of supplementary creatine does in fact cause a certain degree of water retention but it should not be conspicuous to a point where one would notice a ballooned bloated effect on one’s appearance.

I guess it depends on one's sensitivity. My mother who had no idea i was working out or taking supplements was horrified when she saw my arms after a few weeks not seeing her and starting creatine. I mean, 20+ years i had known her, 1st time she makes that comment, and no congestion that day as i didn't work out, the coincidence is quite huge.
