I bought a Nvidia Shield TV (tube) 2 days ago, I found it strange that I am not able to login to Google account from apps like Youtube. Is this a region lock thingy?

Edit : found a solution, perform a factory reset, chose not to copy from phone google account & setting , input manually. Everything works fine now

Clear the app data and redo again.

Thanks I did a factory reset and chose to enter google account manually instead of copy from phone. Now it's working fine. Thanks

It may happen again. Next time no need to do factory reset.

Is that a known issue?

i would suggest direct go Pro too, NS Tube macam not enuf ram or wat not. It is a powerful streaming devices, but if u wan use it to playback high bitrate file like 4k bluray HDR remux mkv etc, better go for Pro. i bought a tube and i felt i should have pay more for Pro. if u wan for streaming only, nvidia tube is enuf, now i think tube price quite cheap also.

The tube plays remux file without issues with Kodi, it was smooth at least for me. Only downside is it's not supporting AI upscale to 4k 60hz

i played movie 4k hdr BD remux file if thru kodi plex via network sometimes will hiccup abit, not sure is network issue or not la. But i tried to play BD ISO, this one definitely not working at all.

AI upscaling not required at 4k bro, cos the video file already native 4k, why still need upscaling haha. Another is cannot play HDR video on youtube, i guess that is shield tv punya weakness la.

Haven't try iso files, but so far remux or any file I throw at it with Kodi runs perfectly, i notice while playing Flac files the front section like 1-2 seconds was skipped not sure why. The AI sampling I mean is from HD 1080 source to 4k . Tube can support up to 4k 30fps . But the pro with latest update can go up to 4k 60fps. Therefore the only disadvantage I feel. But anyway 30 fps should be sufficient with most content, even cinematic standard is 30 fps as I read.

ohh okok.. if 4k remux local so far me also no problem. BD ISO i tried this spears and munsil one 80gb total the folder, can run menu but cant run the video lol. Ok understood, is upscaling like 1080p 60fps to 4k 60fps. Yeah unless is youtube but youtube now mostly can have 4k 60fps video, so still okay la. Anyway if i wanna watch youtube i will switch to TV onboard app lol.

However i realized 1 thing, probably is nvidia shield limitation, cannot play HLG HDR format. Lately got His Dark Materials released in HLG HDR format, the video can play but no HDR. I switched to TV Plex, can playback HLG HDR..

may I know what app you use to get in BR menu? As far as I know Kodi can't support this , is it Plex you are using?
I understand that Remux is same as BD iso. Is my understanding correct? If that's the case iso issue is not a big deal.
