Hi, I have an old desktop lying around and not being utilized so I'm planning to convert it into a Bitcoin mining machine. It's running in 2nd gen with 4+2gb ram and a 1tb hdd currently. I'm planning to buy 3 gtx1060 graphic card as the motherboard has 3 pcie slots.

May I know which brand PSU is good yet cheap to be able to run 3x 1060 6gb card with the mobo and HDD? I had an old Dell N750 server PSU(details in attachment) which I'm not sure whether it can run the gpus and mobo fine? Please do enlighten me. Thanks smile.gif

That Best Power supply list is kinda pointless. biggrin.gif

Anyway just get a good brand 3x 1060 doesn't draw much at all so any PSU that's like 600W would do.

Get one from good brands like Thermaltake, FSP, Silverstone, Corsair, Seasonic, Superflower and whatever else out there.

600W PSU should be priced around RM 550 - RM 700 range for good ones.

Yes you can but because we're unable to ascertain the age and quality of the product, there's no way to assure you that it will go well.

For example, does it have the right connectors? Has it aged long enough that it's now not good at delivering power?

I would avoid thermaltake. reliability, just go with Corsair or CM. on 3 gpu, just make sure ur mobo can support it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I suppose corsair PSU are generally >rm1k for those high wattage ones. apparently there's no budget psu around..

I bought my HX1000 for less than 1k. MYR 960 if not mistaken.
