simcard expiry explanation is contradictory

forumer update:
-Using any freebies from add-on data/call/sms will not extend your validity
Using any data/call/sms from your purchased add on will not extend your validity

Official Statement:
Use any usage from add on will extend the validity

we need more clarification on this topic.

my simcard activated 28 jan 2018, 90 days means this month 28 apr 2018.
need more clarification before i able to decide to let it die or to continue using.

this one is not accurate, i didnt receive even a single sms informing me the expiry date. the app doesnt even show expiry date.
