About the Power Factor Correction (PFC), what different between Active PFC & Passive PFC ?

Sound like Active is self correct automatically, and Passive is need personally user orrect manually ?

about the rails, why must more than 1, is that 3 rails with cause energy lost by uneccesarry ? That will cause energy usage inefficiency and later u see ur electricity bill, u might cry...

This 1 is RT-600EBAD, whether manufacturers are telling the truth about the ratings or not, I have no idea. smile.gif

Currently own a RaptoxX model with LC-450W (OEM?), have passive PFC, (Active is better for sure), Run stable (later will upload the voltages / watts detect tool result), but do not have 8-pins CPU & 6-pins PCI-E connectors.

So, there is someone bulk the RT-600EBAD (from "CHINA"?), Selling at RM350, was wonder maybe this brand is too new for us?(or me?)

*P/S: the different about LC-450W and RT-600EBAD are
- LC-450W was originally manufactored from germany || RT-600EBAD was manufactored at CHINA
- LC-450W is Passive PFC || RT-600EBAD is Active PFC
- LC-450W details hard to find from google || RT-600EBAD details was given the link at below. biggrin.gif
- LC-450W do not have 8-pins & 6-pins 12v connectors || RT-600EBAD have 8-pins x1, 6-pins x2 12v connectors.
- more details? Access the link given and download the pdf files.

i have been using silverstone zeus 750w for the past 2 years..and yesterday my silverstone finally give all it can and blow off  tongue.gif ..
after doin survey on all psu available in my area..i finally purcase acbel m8 740w modular which has 80% certified...
what you guy think of this acbel m8 750 psu as i try google more info on this psu but very limited...

I thought Silverstone reputated with high quality PSU, May I know ur rig spec and any OC setting & possible details about the power source connect from PSU to wall plug scoket (do u use extension and share to multiple devices on that extension), I realised OC did increase my PSU temperature up to 45 °C after running 48 hours PSU fan do auto increase fan speed to make it maintain under 45 °C, I get the reading from thermistor paste on PSU case part where near 24pin cable, and w/o OC is <45 °C, 38 - 40 °C, I never close the side case panel which I am sure the air flow inside is good enough (imagine 100 CFM ram cooler blow the hot air out icon_idea.gif set to 40 cfm also enough to blow out the hot air, inside the air-cond room ), even read from here or here which proof the 45 °C is normal operating temperature. hmm.gif

Turn the box around and we can see that Corsair have listed the HX620's specifications in English, French and German. Some of the most notable features include: Guaranteed to deliver specifications at 50°c, Supports latest EPS12v standards, Industrial grade capacitors, Compatibility with dual-GPU systems, Gold plated connectors. The first of these specifications (Guaranteed to deliver specifications at 50°c) is very commendable as many other PSU manufacturers rate their power supplies at 30-40°c, which is often below the operating temperature of the unit and leads them to giving the PSU inflated performance figures.
Just to want make sure is that every hx620 users have the same temperature reading with / without oc the CPU. notworthy.gif

me normal use...my spec as in my sig....
btw i using extension and 5 socket connected to the extension including my pc...
i believe, my silverstone already reach its maximum life cos i running 24 hour non stop even sleep or working or outstation my pc will be leave on ... biggrin.gif
so how is acbel m8 750 watt  smile.gif
*
Even if u run 2 years 24/7 non-stop -> 365*2*24 = 17, 520 hours, u shd read about the MTBF of silverstone zeus 750w is 100,000 hours at 25 °C, full load. Urs only utilise 17.52% of Meant Time Between Failures than screw up already, what a poor quality silverstone somemore is zeus version rclxub.gif , u shd not share the PSU power with extension somemore up to 5 source socket connect to others, it may cause insufficient power "pump" to ur PSU, and cause current fluctuation (even with APFC, it only help reduce the voltage if too high, never possible generate extra voltage if power source voltage too low), and kill PSU life span, shd be make independant power source to PSU.

But from ur spec, it shd be able to run even with 450w PSU, why that silverstone dead still abit curious hmm.gif , what 5 devices connect to the extension that share the power source with that PSU?

I dunno much about acbel M8, it is modular PSU anyway, and cooler master using acbel PSU and rebrand it, so far I know the greatest PSU is seasonic icon_rolleyes.gif , next to CWT.

ic...i forget to calculate MTBF....the other power socket connected is speaker , LCD, laptop and external drive  tongue.gif
i open up the silverstone and i smell bad smell from inside..even my cable with fuse also burn....and i use other cabel to plug in...it came out spark again and burn smell  sweat.gif
so i think it is 100% dmg edi... rclxub.gif

sweat.gif , lucky it not burst off, u r lucky no injured, when the cable & fuse already burn, that sign already show danger, normally ppl will sent to techinician check or use Digital Voltmeter for those who know how to test, not straight try switch on again. flex.gif doh.gif Never do this again! shakehead.gif

My advice is, check ur extension / wall plug / and even home wiring type, to make sure the current whether stable.
