Just got myself a Corsair HX620W PSU with cable management. Understood and check from the net and confirm this unit is made by SEASONIC. Got very good review from most stress test website. And highly recommended by DFI.

Surprising, the Enermax Liberty 620Watts had been strike off the recommended list, as it was claimed to be too many issue.

There is one question I like to ask SHAWTY here, regarding his FSP EPSILON 700W that he sold few months back, was it because it has Crucial ram compatibility issue.

I am having a FSP EPSILON 700W with some issue with my Crucial Ballistix Tracer. The ram is working fine on DFI Infinity P965-S Dark but not on my Gigabyte P35-DS4 with EPSILON 700W PSU. But using it with my Crucial Ballistix no problem, as I had two sets of these ram.

My FSP Epsilon 700w is working fine with my Crucial Ballistix Tracer.
What kind of problem?

Once I clear cmos with jumper. The system just refuse to boot, when then system is being power up with my FSP Epsilon 700W. Tried using only single stick of Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6400 on both my Gigabyte P35-DS4 as well as Biostar TP35D2-A7. Both motherboard with the FSP cannot boot with only beep sound indication ram problem. rclxub.gif

But they both boot up fine with my Crucial Ballistix 6400 with FSP Epsilon 700w rclxms.gif

These Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6400 however works fine without any problem with my DFI Infinity P965-S motherboard using Acbel E2 Power 510Watts. sweat.gif

Don't know whether the problem is caused by ripple issue from FSP PSU sweat.gif or what

I notice some of the PSU these days are already sleeved (out from factory). Anyone knows which of those are good ones?

Sleeved PSU nowdays are more for cosmetic purposes, and nothing more.

If you look and pc p & c psu, very high end stuff but the cables are not sleeve at all. Very expensive, even the packaging also look cheap.

Then on the other hand, we have modular cable power supply. These psu mostly has their main cable for motherboard soldered directly to the psu. While the rest of the cable are modular for connection like pcie, molex, and floppy power.

A good psu will depend on what you are looking for. Like budget, and the wattage that you need. Meaning this wholething boil down to price performance ratio together with reliability

Noticed most people here only look at power rating on 12V. That is how much juice you get from the 12V rail. Whether it is single or multiple 12V rails. But don't understand why nowdays people never look at the other like 5V, 3.3V and most important and overlooked 5VSB.

I had a server 460Watts True Power PSU by NMB, cannot even start my DFI infinity Dark P965-s. But once couple with Gigabyte, Asus, or Biostar with Q6600, no problems. All rails shows +/- 1% variation, which is what I am look for. When I couple with DFI, even it fails to start but the voltage reading from all rail including 5Vsb, 12V, 5v and 3.3V rail read perfect on my Digital multimeter (Fluke 87). Noticed this psu only has 2A 5Vsb rail.

I think most enermax PSU also show the same problem with DFI motherboard.

Therefore from now on, I will be looking at PSU with minimum 3A on 5Vsb rail. I think it is very important, because what the point with all those juice if the motherboard cannot even start. Don't you think so.

Is it true the those PC Power & cooling silencer 750watt and below are actually OEM by SEASONIC, just like the CORSAIR HX series ?
