I don't think we bench PSU but if you want, you can do a review as in the stability of the voltage, ripple effects, etc. Try read some of them from JonnyGuru.

They normally use multimeter and other hardwares to measure, not via software.

I will definitely go for modular PSU's for better cable management biggrin.gif Don't forget the PSU cable to wall plug is also somewhat "modular" so if connection is not good, they wouldn't have made it detachable at the first place.

The problem is, not everyone uses all the power cables and not everyone can afford big casings smile.gif Even if the casing is big, you still need to find a place to hide the huge chunk of un-used cables which I don't think is easy.

hide it behind the mobo plate like i do..  icon_idea.gif

I thought of that too but if u look at psu like st75f, the amount of cables are massive. I don't think even my cosmos can hide all of them.

lol.. Need to mod the casing for good management..

Mod which part? I don't think it helps in the case of Cosmos and basically we'll still have to leave all the chunks of cables there. It'll look better if we tie it up and that's about all we can do biggrin.gif

You can get Acbel or Gigabyte all over Low Yat Plaza and both are fine. I've never used FSP so no idea though.

If you have a power sucker graphics card like GTX 260, etc then at least 550W is needed smile.gif I could see the power consumption difference as I've just changed from a 8800GT to GTX 260.

Just wondering if the tiny electrical resistance is really a huge factor in overclocking or not?
It isn't a huge factor and there are just as many people having good overclocks with modular PSU. If you're really hardcore then maybe you want to take into consideration all these additional factors for another 10Mhz overclock or so smile.gif At least from my experience, I don't seem to lose anything using both modular/non-modular PSU. Most importantly the PSU need to provide adequate power output for all your hardwares.

Let's not forget that even if it's non-modular, the other side of the connector is also not soldered to the hardware components smile.gif

I think most PSU's have quiet fans so there isn't an issue with fan noises. What you need to look for is a high efficiency PSU (80%+).

hey guys. what do u think of seasonic x series 750w ? is this brand better than silverstone ?
*
Seasonic should be better literally because a lot of Silverstone PSU's have high ripple and don't have the efficiency they are advising at.

XFX PSU's are super good (only when it comes to design and packaging) smile.gif
